I'm hoping this is the correct forum to post info about my Multi-Y (tm) Brush Stand acquisition. I was looking for ONE brush stand that fit all my brushes. (Really don't we only need one just for a wet brush to dry on?) After many artist's renderings of the perfect variable brush stand I stumbled on this piece of perfection at, of all places, Home Depot! Crafted from the highest quality, solid-core, 4 (or was it 6?) gauge copper. Brushed finish from the finest steel wools. It's infinitely adjustable for any height and handle width brush (hmmmm my Vulfix 38?). And for you thrifty people, it's reasonably priced. Oh and did I forgot to mention it fits all sizes of shave bowls and mugs too?! I know. It is hard to believe all the hype. But, try not to be too jealous.
And remember the jingle: The Multi-Y (tm): "Y? Because I can!" (sm)

I lifted the idea from the coat hanger special that a few guys have done. But seriously I've been wanting and day dreaming of a "variable" brush stand. I know when the brush I have used is done drying out, it's put upright on a shelf. So for me one stand is sufficient. Also, a lot of the stands are of poor quality and brushes don't fit that well in them. Maybe someone that is good at inventing (like with the variable length brush) will actually create a variable stand. I have ideas but this is where the talents of a model/machine shop person comes into play.

Very inspirational Joe! By the way, I put up a post last night on the Fiestaware cereal bowl I came across at Linens N Things or BB&B. I thought it would make a great bowl for mixing creams. For some reason the one in your pic didn't dawn on me until now. Wow, I subliminally stole two ideas! :ashamed001

We have any machine shop guys on here? How about a standard base and post mounted with a padded screw clamp? Turn the knob/bar and the padded jaws open or close around the base of the brush.
