I had this book in storage so long that I didn't know I owned it. I had read a post from the other forum and it got me thinking.....go look and find it!
After reading the honing and stropping chapter, I broke out a few razors and my stones. Using the technique described in the book I found that my razors had a much better edge. They feel like the whiskers are being wiped off my face. All this time I've been honing the wrong way??? I've watched videos and read stuff online about honing razors, but this book has set me straight. It's very much like stropping, but with the edge leading... of coarse. Making an X pattern on the hone. This book is available at Amazon for very reasonable prices and if you are having trouble honing or stropping this will really help. I was getting good shaves with my razors, but now.... Whoooooo.....Wheeeeeeeee.... man that's smooth!
If you go looking for this book, find on that is pre 70's.
