Ok, I'm thinking about getting a dedicated brush for creams. Most of the time I use soaps, but on the weekends I like to take even more time and have a super luxurious shave using a nice cream.
Presently, I have a Muhle silver tip 21mm which was a good value and good with creams, but I want more. I also have an AOS Fine badger (best?) that I got with a gift certificate. Its a solid all around performer, but nothing special. Most days, I use my Rooney small No. 1 Finest. It is something special, but I only use it for soaps.
So, I want something just for creams. I'd want to keep it in the 23-24mm size range. I'd certainly consider another Rooney in finest, but don't know which model might work the best for creams. I've also dreamt of a Plisson, but at that price, I could come close to buying a custom straight instead. Suggestions? :happy093

For a decent cream brush, look to Vulfix. They are very well made for the price.

Why not a 23-26 mm Shavemac or Savile Row? I have both and find they work fantastic with creams not bad with soaps either....
Joe had a beauty 3226 Savile Row for sale yesterday in the classifieds :drool:drool

I am also in the SR camp for creams. Vulfix are also excellent for creams. I have a SR 208 and I am very satisfied with its performance.

I like the SR 3xxx for Soaps, but they still work great on creams

I've found that my SR 3124 works amazingly on both creams and soaps. And even all types of soaps as well: Glycerin-based, Cold Poured, hard/triple milled, etc.
Definitely consider a SR 3XXX line. They'll whip up some gorgeous lather with any cream.

The SR is certainly on the list to consider. How about shavemac? I'm really looking for the ultimate cream brush. I'm pretty set on soap brushes. Thanks for the advice guys.

Shavemac would also be an excellent choice. Perhaps a custom-made one? ;)

Rich, that custom Shavenac is indeed a beauty. Nice design selection! I drool every time I see it!

Wow, very nice indeed! Rich, which Rooney is that? The Shavemac is really nice looking...hmmmm. What are the size specs on these two?
If you all were going to design a brush just for creams, what would your criteria be? I’m assuming a higher loft and leaning towards 23-24 mm knot. Anything else I’m not considering? Thanks for the input.
