Well,

I just had the best shave of my life. It was 3 days of growth down to NOTHING. have to patches on my neck that i couldnt get rid of no matter what i was trying.

I will let you on to a secret that i kinda just found myself doing. A sort of blade buffing with my Straight. Took extremly small multiple strokes xtg and atg. I would describe it as kinda sanding my face with the blade. Didnt hurt a bit. Of course when i put on some a/s i almost teared up, but no redness at all. Im extremely happy. I was using a 5/8 blade and want to see if i can do it with one of my 7/8's soon.

good job but that little move is not much of a secret it comes with you developing the dexterity and confidence with your technique. Some call it scything(not sure of spelling). It is a move that is not discussed when you are learning because the nature of the movement of the blade can be a little too much for the beginner to control. Now you have another move in your repertoire.

I dont know why i started doing it...was just trying to get closer along the jawline. Inded up doing most of my face and neck like that as a finishing part of the shave.

When I go ATG with my DE I tend to do very short strokes sort of like blade buffing. It always works well and I find it a little easier to maintain the gentleness when you do it slow and short.

Well....woke up today with red splotches on my cheek. Hurts to rub my face ATG. I threw some shea butter on my face and see how it goes. Guess no shave for me today.

Maybe you were a bit too aggressive with your shave yesterday, perhaps a day of rest is in order..

Well....i rested a day...no more pain to the face. So i got ready to shave.

Well...into my shave...the part that has been sensitive..turned beet red and really looks like i have a bad case of acne. I see alot of little white bumps. Im praying its not ingrowns. I couldnt even finish my shave really...i look like crap. Was to painful to continue. I splashed on Anherb Aftershave gel and the Moisturizing lotion. I think ill put some Shea on it later and not shave for about 4 days. See if that help out. Man...im really dissapointed

Actually....those were my thoughts. I was like...you know..i never got this problem with a Mach 3. Actually I always had good shaves with Mach 3's. But the allure of using a cut throat is to cool to pass up.

I have all these spots of skin..that are kinda flaps..dont know what that is all about..kinda like dry skin....i dont know what the hell i did to myself...i have some shea butter on it now.

I would tend to agree. I mean my face was a little sore yesterday....so i skipped the shave. TOday.......OUCH. Face is really red...and well...when i rub it....starts to hurt. If i place it on a pillow its really sensitive

You have an alum block? Might cut the red irritation down before you put the Shea butter on. I find that when my neck goes red the Alum and Cold water just kill the redness away right away.
