I finally decided to try my Floris samples this evening. So, after a short sniffage session I settle on the santal, very nice fragrance.
WOW!! This stuff lathers..I let my c&e best badger brush soak in the bowl for a while in hot water, put about a kidney bean sized dollop of cream into the wet brush. I don't shake the water out of the brush after I soak it, just turn the brush upside down and let the excess drip out..I seem to get a good lather this way, using my TOBS, AOS, Proraso and C&E creams. Don't usually have to add much extra water.
Anyway, the lather was flying all over the bathroom :D.
Now, onto the shave, wow, this stuff smells excellent :drool
What a shave, this stuff ROCKS!! I did notice a bit of tingling after about the second pass, when re-applying the lather, this is probably due to the fragrant nature of this cream. Nothing horrible, but it definitely tingled a bit, as did the after shave balm, which also smells incredible, by the way.
So, I'm trying to figure out how I can justify spending this much money on shaving cream/shaving balm

Johnnie, I'm almost thinking one wouldn't need to wear any aftershave with the balm, as it's pretty fragrant, do you wear any?

I have samples of Floris
Elite Conditioning Shave Cream (Woody Scent)
J.F. Conditioning Shave Cream (Citrus Scent)
Santal Conditioning Shave Cream (Santal Scent)
They are all on my wish list for full size purchases.

Floris has regular sales where you can get their signature fragrances for sometimes up to half price. In fact, I just got an e-mail from them that had some discounts for "cosmetically damaged" items.

I have found Floris at TJ Maxx, around Christmas time.
I got an awesome Floris gift set of Edwardian Bouquet for less than $30 from TJ Maxx. Set included full size edt, lotion, shower gel, and a candle in a lovely big box.

Hi Steve!
I find Floris scents to be quite classy and elegant.
I haven't tried their shave cream, though.

I don't have the balm of the JF but I use the JF cream with the JF edt and I think it is a great scent. I'm thinking about getting the JF aftershave splash as I prefer splash to a balm. But either way, with the JF, I don't think you can layer too much as the scent is not long-lasting, unlike the Santal which imo is a much stronger and longer-lasting scent.
Unfortunately I sold my Santal edt and balm because Wifey found it to be objectionable. She rarely voices an objection so I knew it had to go. But the JF (and mostly anything else I use) she likes.

Hey gang, thanks for the replies. As far as the scents go, I like Floris' Vetiver and santal a lot. The vetiver is awsome. Now, I can't wait for my Floris to arrive WOOHOO!!

Gents-
I received a very generous package of samples from Floris last week. I've tried the Santal and the JF creams followed by the after shave balm.
I must say, I'm impresssed. I think price be darned, JF cream is going to become part of my regular rotation. The lather is great and the scent very engaging. And since SWMBO is a regular at TJ Maxx, I'll put her on the hunt as well.
Regards,
Max

Max, the Floris stuff is top shelf. As far as scents go, I've run the gamut; at first I loved the santal, then I got way into the JF, now I think the Elite is my favorite..So, I will probably wind up with all of them eventually LOL..enjoy the shave.
