My job is rough on my hands. I come in contact with lots of chemicals, and handle lots of rough things in the course of a day. This has been a part of my life for so long, that my hands are actually scarred from the cracking. With cooler weather coming, I know the worst part of the year for this is soon to be here.
In a random conversation, I mentioned this to Issy, and he whipped up a batch of hand cream to try and help. What he created is a VERY thick moisturizing hand balm, that is like no other I have tried. This hand balm goes on a bit greasy, but for the amount of moisturizing, that is to be expected. Whatever he used was quickly soaked into my skin, and the results were quite long lasting.
I post this to find out if there is any demand for a product like this. The stuff issy, is not gonna be what the average person is looking for, as it's just too greasy. For a person like me though.... it's truly unbelievable, and is much more practical than the olive oil hand soaks i've done in the past. Hopefully this year, I have a shot at staying crack free.
Anybody else out there have a need for something like this?
But.
anything I put on my hands has got to go in right away.
Ive tried many products for this issue and even though the healing effects may be fab-u....wont use it if it doesnt sink in within a cuppa minutes.

Does that include Butt Crack? :D
No, I do not use Krazy Glue on skin splits.
I need to find that Bay Rum Hand Salve Will has. I use Badger, Ogallala and Burt's Bees hand salves to great success now. Out in the weather working with horses is a killer on computer soft hands.
Need something that absorbs pretty quickly.

I rarely find myself in the position of needing a moisturizing cream for my hands and if I do, I just use Shea Butter. But it's good to hear about this product, too, thanks for the heads-up, Bobby!

No, but Dad used to use something called "nu-skin".

I'm fairly certain Nu-Skin is super glue.
I use super glue for paper cuts, minor cuts and scraps, and for fingernails/toenails that want to break off below the line.
A few years ago, my head lost an early morning battle with a shower faucet. Woke up in the ER, spent 20 million hours in the ER, just to get a bit of super glue(Nu-Skin) on the ouchie on my chin.

:happy001 Yeah I guess it could depend on what you need it for. It is definitely greasy though, does not soak in very well at all.....

Just like Bag Balm. Greasy as hell. We use Bag Balm on the horses a lot for cuts and scrapes. Saved me from losing a third layer of skin on the worst sunburn of my life. Have maybe 5-6 tins of the stuff all over the place. For a hand balm or general moisturizer though? Nope.

Of course, I can always be persuaded to try said moisturizer. The one full cream heavy moisturizer I have in the the house is Gold Bond Ultimate Body Lotion. I use it when I have the dry shin itching horrors and I don't want to use my precious shea butter.

Issy - what I can really use is a facial lotion (for areas other than bearded parts). Without parabens or other craps.
What have u got, bro?
Here's what I'm using now. Its too expensive (although I only use a very minuscule amount), but I am comfortable with the ingredients and the results:

Im working on a few things (ask Bobby about my pain cream) most of that ingredient list looks good but it HAS to have some kind of preservitive in it if it has water. I will look it up but I think by FDA rules they dont have to list it if it is 1 % or less of the total mix (which a good one would be, such as germall.

The contained alcohol may serve as preservative?

Udder balm is most certainly great stuff, but even it doesn't cut it for me in the winter.

I wet my hands with gojo (in the white container) and put on a pair of rubber gloves for a couple of hours. Really cleans the grease out, softens the area around the cracks, and seems to heal pretty quickly.
