I'm selling Feather Hi-Stainless double edge blades for low prices - $62.50 for a bulk carton of 250, including shipping. They're exceptionally sharp, and yield great results for many people. They're noted for working especially well in the Merkur slant bar razor.

I'm willing to break up a bulk pack with a price per blade of $.25 and a flat shipping cost of $1.50 in the USA. If you want Priority Mail, shipping will cost $4.60.

For larger quantities outside the USA, shipping is charged at very close to actual cost. You can calculate roughly what the shipping cost will be at usps.com, with the fact that a carton of 250 blades weighs almost exactly 8 ounces.

Unfortunately, the new postal rates on 5/14/07 eliminated the low-cost small flat rate Global Priority Mail envelopes. The larger flat rate envelope can still be economical for larger quantities.

I also have the Feather Portable travel razor for $6.50 each, plus $2 shipping for one, and $.75 shipping for additional ones:
http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=739

This 3-piece all-metal razor is very similar to the Gillette Tech, but slightly more aggressive, and comes with a very small hard plastic travel case. The head and handle will interchange with almost any other 3-piece razor.

I will ship outside the USA, but you'd need to write for a shipping quote, since the cost varies depending on where you live.

QUANTITY DISCOUNTS

If you want a very large quantity of razors or blades, feel free to negotiate for a better price.

HOW TO PAY

I accept cash, checks, money orders, Paypal. I will consider using any other electronic method you suggest. (I'm trying to find a better service than Paypal, which has too many complications and fees and insecurities.) I can take credit cards and debit cards through my Paypal account even if you don't have a Paypal account.

If you pay by credit card or debit card, I add Paypal's fee to the total. In the USA, the fee is 3% plus $.30. Outside the USA, it's 4% plus $.30.

How to contact me

The quickest method is to send a PM, because I check them much more often than I check this thread.

With your payment, and with any inquiries about your order, please include your name, address, what you're getting, and your nickname. This will save a lot of time and head-scratching on my part, especially with those of you with creative nicknames or unusual orders.

And you need to tell me if you're using a credit card or debit card, whether or not you're using Paypal. I can take Paypal, and I can take cards through Paypal even if you don't have a Paypal account.

Feather stainless razor blades are available in many different guises but are the same blade.

Feather Hi-Stainless (black & grey card) & Feather New Hi-Stainless (red & yellow card) are the same blades. They also come in 5 & 10-packs in both types.

The New Hi-Stainless can have two feathers printed on the blade or just NEW HI-STAINLESS & no feathers.

The only different blade I know of are carbon Feathers

Paul

Not sure if they are meant for shaving use (may not be PTFE coated)

Double edge, carbon steel blade
Sharp edges; may be broken in half lengthwise (protect fingers and use eye protection). This is a very good razor blade for use with the VibratomeŽ and other vibrating microtomes.

Do I want to know what a VibratomeŽ is?

Hmm...the only thing I have to go by is the blade wrapper. It's white with a picture of a blue feather and the word "feather" written underneath. This is a repeating pattern. I don't know which version this is, but I can say it is my favorite blade so far!

That's a Feather New Hi-Stainless.

One of my Favourites too.

I'm pretty sure the Feather "blue" blade (carbon steel, not stainless) is not suitable for shaving, and someone at shavemyface reported a very harsh shave with it.

A well-sharpened uncoated carbon steel blade is extremely sharp and suitable for certain kinds of cutting, but it's punishing to your face when shaving.

Some people claim that there is a difference between the blades marked "Hi-Stainless" and the ones marked "New Hi-Stainless Platinum Coated":
http://www.shavemyface.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=41179

I pay only slightly less for the blades in the cartons ("Hi-Stainless") than I did for the 10-packs ("New Hi-Stainless"), and the difference seems to be only because of the reduced packaging.

Only one person who bought them has reported noticing any difference.

I've edited the opening post in this thread to reflect this new information.

Someone recently reported that the blades you get from Classic Shaving are marked "Hi-Stainless" with no mention of platinum on the blade. The card inserted into the 10-pack says "New Hi-Stainless Platinum Coated", but not the blades themselves. However, I have seen Feather blades marked the same as on the cards, so this makes the whole thing a little more mysterious.

heres my early 2CW on the whole sitch:

The blades are different !

I received Pauls 250 pack of Feathers a week or so ago and have tried the blades in my Slant  and Slim.
I WILL NOT USE THE PLATINUM COATED FEATHER in my slant but these (Hi-Stainless) are pretty dog-gone good blades and I have gotten some great shaves with them in the slant.
I have been using the Platinum coated Feathers in my SS and then transfering them to other razors after 3-4 shaves but the Hi- Stainless are good to go right out of the box.

From what I've read more recently, there's a chance that these blades I have are platinum coated. People have found it very hard to tell the difference from Feather's current stainless blade.

hmmmm...................very interesting.
I will say this about your blades, PD:

They are smoother to me right outta the wrapper and just as sharp.
So.
Platinum coated or not, still a winner with me. :eatdrink047

Even though these blades are old, almost everyone's experience with them is that they have not deteriorated, and are about as good as Feather's historically best blades.
