After several attempts to get the lather just right, last night I finally got there. The lather has excellent stability, consistency, elasticity, cushion, and glide. I am going to use it this week to get a good idea of the results. I will cut it with both DE and straights.

Notable shave for two things.

1) First time with the TGQ soaps, incredibly appealing scent, great lather. I will have to work out the optimal brush water/soap ratio, but even with me flapping about adding more lather in the brush, the shave ended up top notch.

2) Anherb conditioner contains menthol, and I know this because I had the coolest eyebrows in town for five minutes this morning when I spilled too much in my palm and applied rather richly across my entire face.

Result: First time with the Red Tip Super Speed after I cleaned it up. Aggressive blade exposure but tamable. We'll see how it does with other blades. I've cleaned up about 7 razors so far. Could probably use a little more but, I got them into pretty good condition. The shave was 4.2/5.0. I went light due to the new razor and didn't want to turn it into a rough shave. Another cream sample bit the dust today.

Result: Very nice shave. 4.5/5.0 The Black Tip Gillette is a mild light razor but still feels better constructed then some other light razors I've tried. The handle needs some more work on it. I'm still getting a little oxidation off of it for some reason. I really had a hard time shaving this morning. I did some upper body weight training on Monday for the first time in a while. I am paying for it big time today. Sucks getting old. :D

So be impressed for last year. I HAD a McIntosh MC275 that I sold last year. Age and exposure to high noise levels have left me with the inability to hear the difference between the MC275 and the Onkyo DS989 I use for home theater. So I sold it to someone who could still appreciate it.

BTW: my open reel is an ancient AKAI 1730DSS four channel I bought for "Quadrophonic" usage. :rofl

Another great day in the shave den with the Super Speed and a Treet Dura Sharp blade. Managed to count the number of blades I have in my stash, approximatly 110. At the rate that I am going through blades I caluclate that I have approximatly eight years supply in there.

The last 2 shaves I started lathering on my face and I think I like it better. Two shaves in and I think I can already feel when the lather is ready.

After using pure Witch Hazel for 2 weeks, I'm going to go with Lucky Tiger for the next 2 and see if there's a difference.

I also started using my right hand more and so far the results are pretty good.

Good shave...had 4 days of growth. Had some trouble spots at the jawline..but didnt want to keep going over it with the Str8 so i busted out the DE. The Palmolive was very slick.

On a side note..if the Aqua Velva doesnt burn when you put it on....does that mean you had a good shave? I got the nice cooling effects after.....but it wasnt OUCH!!

Soak then shake out almost all the water
Load the brush with as much soap as possible....work the brush on the soap until there is no lather on the soap
Make sure your face is wet and then take the brush to your face.
add dribblets of hot water to the breech until uberLather is attained.

Itll work.

I did get Uber lather before. Used my standard technique for a triple mill for that and I did it with a scrubby cream brush. :p I just want to soften it up a little to make it easier because I could use this soap as a hockey puck. The Kent wooden bowl lids fit horribly.

Great shave. The DVH is a very woodsie soap/cream and slick. I havent used the 5/8 in about 2 months, and boy is it easy and quick now. Going from 7/8 to 5/8 is different. The blade is lighter and moves quicker if that makes sense.
