Me first bloody DE shave!!

The call of the Shaving Gods was strong this cool September morning.

I popped in a crystal, as Mottern Man suggested..Applied my AOS shaving oil, proceeded to get some lather brewing...a feeble attempt as I am merely a shaving newbie at this point..

Oh, the shaving Gods were looking down upon me today. Everything went perfect..And, as I sit here in total satisfaction in what I consider to be the best wetshave I have ever experienced, I can't help but think that the shaving Gods were definitely rewarding me this morning.

I did 2 North/South passes. I kept thinking, wow, this sounds/feels awsome..I can actually feel the wiskers succumbing to the crystal/merkur...I knew I should probably quit at that point and call it a successful first DE shave. But like a drunk being offered 1 more, I continued with an across the grain pass, followed by an against the grain pass...followed by some touch ups...

All this and not a speck of blood or irritation anywhere..WOOHOO!!! The shaving Gods have seen fit to provide me with an absolutely outstanding shave..What a great way to start the day.

Sounds like a great shave. Stick with the Crystal for a couple of months, then start exploring the blade sampler packs. There's so much to enjoy! Welcome!

Hey gang, thanks for the replies and advice. Leisureguy, thats good advice, I was wondering if I should try a different blade after the crystal, or just use them for a while longer...thanks for the info..

Stay with the crystals for awhile, to make sure you have your technique perfected. The less variables when learning, the faster you'll learn.
