Hi,
Interested to know what peoples thoughts are on Old Spice Lather Shaving Cream, and what sort of shave it provides compared to say Proraso or Tabac, or what sort of scent it carries.
So long as it does not smell like Tabac which the wife has banned me from using, because she claims it has that old man smell about it. :sad029

The scent is just like the Old Spice aftershave.
I can't speak on the shave provided, as I haven't tried it yet.

Thanks JoAnna,
Not sure whether thats a good or bad thing if the wife is involved. I smelt a bottle of the aftershave the other day, and I don't know if it has changed formulas over the years, but it just seems to smell so synthetic these days, don't know if that's me or my memory. :D
I was hoping for an opinion on the shave cream especially as it's up for sale in the online shop.........oh well maybe not.
Cheers

Old Spice certainly did change it's scent in the united states. I don't know why, how or when, but it certainly did change. To me the current version smells more powdery.
Don't know if you noticed, but we carry two varieties of the old spice cream. The original smells just like the old spice if yesteryear, as it is the original old spice scent, but we also carry fresh lime. The lime reminds me very much of truefitt and hill west indian limes, as it's almost a key lime scent. Neither cream will leave a lingering scent after shaving. I find both creams to work very well. The cream provides a good bit of glycerin, so it is very moisturizing. I'm probably a bit biased, but I think it's a really nice cream...
BTW-both varieties perform equally well for me

I really like the old Old Spice scent. I may have to order some of that cream.

I just ordered the Old Spice shaving cream along with a selection of the Palmolives. It will be interesting to give them a go.
I agree that the Old Spice scent of today is not like the Old Spice of, say, the 1950's. And I have to say that I liked the older scent better.

Thank you people for answers to my question.
It appears I to will have to place an order for this cream. One question, is the Lime in limited supply, or I can pretty well get that any time I like?
Cheers

old school scented soaps and creams do it for me every time. Gosh, I love Erasmic, Ingram, Shavallo, Palmolive, etc, so much. I'll absolutely definitely place an order for Old Spice cream!

It's weird - usually people like the old originals of most things better. In my case, when I was a young shaver, I abhorred my Dad's Old Spice. I felt it was a heavy and cloying fragrance. Many years went by as I shunned Old Spice, but by chance I saw a bottle in the men's room at a firehouse and I decided to try it. I immediately suspected that they had changed the formula, because now I loved it. I went out and bought a bottle immediately. One man's trash is another man's treasure. :D

I used the cream for the first time the other day and finished up with Old Spice a/s and the edt. Loved it. :D

I guess it is all marketing. kinda sad. Fads come and go. They should come up with an old spice classic or something. That stuff brings back great memories of grandpa. I use it, but it does seem to lack something. I think the classic old spice was a bit more harsh, or astringent, but that was the appeal, IMHO. I am certainly not an expert in scents.

Good cream. Lathers well. I like to add a couple drops of liquid glycerine for Superlather. You won't be disappointed.
Wish it was still available in the US. Had to order mine from India. It arrived in a potato sack looking package.

Hehe.. I bought some stuff on ebay, and I got it wrapped the same way. And a full roll of clear tape held it together ;)
