Just letting you guys know, our storefront is now open. We've got a few cool items, and will be expanding our floid line soon. We appreciate the business, and as always, your purchases help fund the forum.
Some of our items include:
old spice shave creams
floid aftershave and cream
our own soaps and creams (made by queen of blades)
bay rum aftershave and cologne (manufactured by ogallala at less than their retail)

The creams and soaps are made by queen of blades, some of the guys here were able to test them some through their development, but honestly, I don't know which users we able to work with the finished product (you'd have to ask JoAnna that one). I've used the soap and cream, and find both of them to be a really great product.
The bay rum is made by ogallala. It's the same bay rum products they've always sold, but with our label, and a lower cost.

The only place I've seen post a clear shipping statement on colognes to Canada says they use DHS ground. Looking through the UPS website for answers tells me they need a new person to organize information for their website.

Personally, I don't have a problem with my soaps and creams being discussed at the other forums. Like if someone posts their SoS, including the use of my products, at the other forums, and then someone else asks where they got it. I think that it's fine to direct them to the store then. Since those products are truly exclusive of TSD's store.
But to purposely go over there and say, "Hey, TSD has such and such, Go buy it". That isn't so good.
Hope that makes sense. :o

Anyone can buy from the store. I thought it would be a fun way to help cover server costs. If there is someone from another forum that would like to shop here, they are more than welcome, but for myself, or any of the other mods to go there and JUST advertise our store, would be in poor class. I'd imagine soon enough they'll know about us.

Hey -- TraderJoe's SoS post this morning brings up an interesting question. He lists his cream used today as TSD Mint w/ extra added Menthol.
How does one go about scoring some of that customized cream? Can we request additional Menthol, etc. at the time of order, or is that something that needs to happen outside the "normal" boundaries of placing an online order?
Might help drive a bit more sales through the site, if we could customize (to a point) or do special request blends... again... provided that the requests are within reason.
Just wondering...

I'll let JoA handle this one.....but when I ordered my cream, I was asked if I wanted added menthol. Naturally the answer was 'YES'. The mint cream you have is out of the same batch that I got mine, FYI ;)
I also specifiied how potent I wanted my creams "scented"
You raise a good point, and since the stuff is hand made I'm sure it can be customized to your specs.

That cream was not customized for Joe. That is how the Avalanche cream will be sold.

There was some messed up code.... I've got usps up for international. The prices run about 1/3 of ups. Keep me posted gentleman, but I think you'll like the options much better now.
For those that enjoy the technical
There was a problem with the usps v4 api shipping module, and it's interface with the cart. The format that v4 sends the charges back to the store with, was slightly different from v3... just so much that the cart kicked it out as erroneous. Made a couple changes, and bang, they're talkin and we have more international options.

Are the USPS rates to Canada based on shipment value, weight, or something else?

Rates are based on weight, and size (size only if its a VERY large package).
Value, or number of items do not affect shipping cost (this goes for foreign and domestic). We take the exact shipping cost, and add one dollar to cover packaging materials.
Nerdy Talk: The API's are written by the United States Postal Service (which is why UPS still showed). Something about their last release was just different than how they handled it before, but I was able to adjust our software to get it back in line.
DTD to XSD... That's about exactly how it went. You ever notice in life how problems/mistakes are never anyones fault?

Folks, I have some of the cedarwood and bergamot creams. DO NOT hesitate to order any variety of this stuff. I want to post a review, but as a moderator, I have held back for fear of seeming like a shameless huckster.
But the creams are the real deal. Very slick but you get a good cushion. I have used the original orange EO version I got (as a tester) with both a DE and a str8, and I am looking forward to trying the most recent batch I got with a str8.
Sure, if you purchase it will help TSD. But you will be glad you did. It is a quality product!
