Not really new to wet shaving, but new to the board. Got started on Badger & Blade, but my straight razor restoration project led me here.

My current go-to set up is a pre-war Milord, Israeli Personna blades, Geo F. sandalwood shave cream, and aqua velva aftershave of various varieties depending on my mood. Simple as all heck, but works fine for me. Luckily I've managed to avoid the various ADs for the most part, except for razor restoration.

Got a Superspeed that I'm having re-plated, an Imperial Razor's straight razor that is getting a full restoration with new scales and everything, and I will probably re-plate the Milord at some point as well.

I also restore briar pipes, semi-antique wooden products, and turn bowls.

Welcome. Have you thought of making your own shaving brush (i.e., turning the handle and then buying a knot to mount in it)? I have a Milord from the 40's I like a lot, but I'm pretty sure it's post-war.

Good to see you here.

That's currently on the project list. The only thing preventing its completion is I'm unsure as to where to get said knot.

I ordered a knot from www.thegoldennib.com Got it in the mail yesterday. Looks really nice, and feels great. Silvertip 20mm for $20 shipped! It will probably be a while before I get my handle turned, but I will post pictures at that time.
