Check your brush, it may not be fully loaded.

I don't recall having trouble with lather thinning out using shave oil, you talking cream or soap here?

If you have been doing this for a while (not sure whether your post count is indicative of your wetshaving timeframe), you may have oil buildup on your brush which would prevent maximizing your lather. If you have done this for a while, give your brush a good shampoo.

You might try using less oil....too much oil can dumb the lather down a little bit, moreso with soaps

I'd go with the previous suggestions. If this is a consistent thing, you might need to wash your brush in some shampoo and use less oil. Too mush oil kills lather and a brush loaded with oil won't lather right.
add a squirt of
KissMyFace Unscented Cream
to the mix.
Superlather, baby !
OH.
and dump the shave oil :rolleyes005

nothing wrong with a bit of shave oil , just dont get it on your brush !
rub it in your beard before you step into the shower specially with its a thicker oil type like Williams shave oil.
The oil will extract impurities from the skin while you shower.
I combine this sometimes pre-shave oil then preshave soap.

OMG I SHOULD HAVE KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT .
Should have known the WILLIAMS Junky would not let this go by unnoticed.:drool
The advert says, for sensitive skin, dont need lather just 3 drops of Williams oil for the whole shave . 95 shaves in the little bottle.
Well personally I have tried a shave oil that claimed the same rubbed it in and started shaving yes it works you can shave alone with oil and nothing else. do I like it hell no clogs up the razor due to the oil and its a bitch to wash down the oil spots with your hair in the sink. have I tried this oil NOT YET. the Scent from Heaven Oil claims to be close to Williams , guess Ill have to buy this Williams Oil sometimes its readily available here so I guess US should be the same.

It really looks like it's the Somerset-oil to me. Personally I love to use the Somerset-oil every once in a while as a preshave because it has menthol in it :D
There's nothing better than a shave with menthol in every product from the preshave to the ASB :: :drool
