OK, who actually owns one of these? What makes it so special? I have checked every antique store around and when traveling and no one has ever heard of one.

Hi Dennis,
Maybe I can partially answer your question, since the more knowledgeable members seem to have clammed up.
Every so often, one of these come up on ebay, and the members on other forums talk about em and how they shave. Lots of these members have actually SHAVED with em, so the sources are good usually. I can't think of a bad review about em by any members.......they are supposed to be an excellent shaving razor. That's the first thing. There's a part of the handle where the material used causes it to 'stick' to your hand in some sorta way. It's got quite a following, from what I've read.
Of course, you found out they're rare to see, and that obviously adds to the price. This is one of those types of razors similar to the Gillette '195'.........they get some attention. The Gillette also has an excellent reputation for providing a great shave.
The Sticky's appearance is also quite unusual, so you got that going too.
Hope that helps a bit,
Martin

Hope that helps a bit,
Martin
Oh, in case I'm wrong about any of that, please don't hesitate to correct me. Rather not put out any incorrect information and my feelings wont be hurt..heh.
Thanks for all that!
btw, it wasn't really my idea, at all. That would be Bobby's idea. I just handle the auction parts. :o

I have used this exact razor, I had to use it at least once before it was gone, lol. It's a pretty long razor, roughly the length of a lady gillette (if memory serves me correct).
It's a very good shaver. The upper black part it is some type of lightly rubberized resin.
Do understand though, while this is a very good razor, it's the rarity of it that drives the prices up. I haven't checked, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's the only one on ebay at the moment.

I have a daily Wilkinson search running on eBay. Haven't seen one in a while except this one.

Hi Joanna,
Well, I'm glad to contribute that little bit of info.......picked up over the months and finally put to use......heh. Bobby knows what's gonna create some excitement, and I'll be curious where that one ends up. I'd imagine that this would be bought to be used as a personal shaver, but I could be wrong.
I don't use a DE razor....no reason now to get into why not. However, if I were to use one, I think the 'sticky' appeals to me visually more than other DE's. Plus, as I said, it's supposed to be a great shaver.
Heh, is that dragonboy(Thomas) bidding on that thing? You know, I was so glad he won that QED wild rose auction recently. I pm'ed him before the auction ended and then he pm'ed me after, to let me know he'd won. I told him he was damn lucky he didn't get into a bidding war with someone like him......heh. JoAnna? Didn't I mention that soap also when it was up still up for bid? Looks like I'm shilling for you in order to take advantage of poor Thomas and his unquenchable AD's.
Now I had a nice laugh when I first pm'ed Thomas, and he mentioned he happens to have 80 soaps and creams. Momabear accounted for...21 of em. NOT that there's anything wrong with that.........just saying.
Anyway, there will be lots of dribbled droplets of drool plopping onto various keyboards while this auction's underway.

Will do! Received the little fellow in yesterdays mail. Along with a couple of tubs of an OUTSTANDING new scent soap from MB. I will put the 2 together this weekend. :drool
I had to give my new Chubby a welcome today. He's been sitting on the counter among the others looking very forlorn and lonely, so today was for him. ::
