Well the pictures "speak" for themselves, but I'll go ahead and open my mouth anyway.

This cream is simply incredible. In every way possible. It has the luxury, cushion, and protection of a "cream"......with the slickness and lubrication of a soap. It coats your beard, yet rinses away easily and won't clog your brush. In fact, I think it cleaned the gunk out of my brush left behind from other creams.

This gave me a couple of my best shaves ever, and left my skin looking and feeling fantastic!

I really have to agree with joe. It is so easy to build a great lather. The smell....what can i say...it brings you back to that childhood Orange smell that is so good. The shave was nice and slick. It left my skin feeling great, and the soap stayed thick for 3 passes. I would be in line to buy this in a second.

Great Job!!

I can say nothing more than "I love the cream" :love008

I had a wonderful shave. The lather is easy whipped up, thick and not drying. My beard is softened effectively and the razor glides over the skin as if there is oil and no water. Very impressive.

And the best: My skin feels GREAT :happy108

Thank you JoAnna :bounce017

You are welcome Stefan!

and thank you, for testing and reviewing the cream for me. :D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~
Thank you everyone who has helped with my little endeavor. My only concern is that not everyone can like it this much :confused: and if anyone doesn't like it, I hope they will be honest with me. I love the praise, but I do want honest opinions. So, please guys, if it wasn't everything Joe and everyone has said, please let me know.
I know shaving is a big YMMV kinda thing.
And I promise to be a big girl and not cry or get mad, if you don't like the cream. :D
Thanks again.
I also think it is excellent in every way. Unfortunately the Orange EO reacted with my skin so I had to rinse the cream off at warp speed. Going to try it again hopefully with better result. Nothing wrong with the cream just that EO reacted with my skin.
No, I forgot his sensitivity issues. :ashamed001
But it sounds like Raf had a worse skin reaction than Jeff's. Sorry guys. :o
If Jeff is agreeable I'm gonna try making a sensitive skin shaving cream.
Joanna , its also Jeff's own fault for not having told you that he is over sensitive to EO. or certain EO ! so for example he might be ok with this EO but completely in HELL with another type.
I would suggest you buy this book from half.com so you can read it nicely in bed for example or print out the full book its also online for your convenience so you can simply skip to any chapter that interests you right now.
my skin is sensitive to the point where my own sweat can irritate it badly. I always keep a bottle of Anherb gel in the office, so any time my face feels an irritation coming, I just put some on, and poof!!!! no more irritation.
Yes:
Took another shave with the cream this morning, it is a miraculous elixir! This is very exciting. I have always enjoyed creams, but never loved them. I even decided not to acquire any more.
.....as it turns out, I only needed to try "one" more :D
It has the best qualities of a soap, combined with the best qualities of a cream.....and none of the downsides of either. If you don't know what that means, you'll see in my full review which I will do shortly.
JoAnna is going to have to make a bucket of this stuff just for me, and in the meantime I am seriously considering the sale of all of my other creams....including my two tubs of JM Fraser and the 17 tubes of Palmolive Red.
Thanks JoAnna, for allowing me to sample this wonder-cream ::
Well, kiddies, when I took geography in HS it looked like South Carolina and Virginia weren't all that far apart. Apparently for the USPS, they are worlds apart. So, alas, I am relegated to the "me, too" corner. But, nevertheless, onward!
HOLY CRAP!! This cream is a dream! I figured if Joe and Jeff liked it, it must be good, but I was determined to give it a fair review. Oh, HELL yeah...
Tools:
Crabtree & Evelyn Best Badger brush
cheap Target soup bowl
Geo. Wostenholm "Peerless" 5/8 spike point razor
This stuff lathered like crazy, stood up to a four-pass straight shave, and I STILL had some left in the bowl and on the brush.
It was slick, my face feels great, and the orange EO wasn't overpowering at all. This I say having used many more soaps than creams, but I would put it at or above my Truefitt & Hill and Crabtree & Evelyn varieties. No joke. This is serious stuff. And it's the real deal!!
Thanks for letting me a beta tester, JoAnna! ::git
Let me tell you a story dragon that you will most certainly dont like..
I have a few experiences sending stuff to Sweden because Dragon orders from me but I also have lots of friends in Sundsvall up north in Sweden.
I send my friend a 5 kg box filled with shaving goodies to the max.
I paid priority post means about 23 euro for a 3-4 days delivery max.
I send it on a tuesday or wednesday not sure so that would be 4-5 Juli. it showed online thru the tracking nr as send on 6th Juli ! :eek: on a Friday.
anyways it arrived in Sweden on 9-7-07 pretty fast ! Monday but my friend was at work so no go. he got home and went to the gas station there they said the post didnt bring the box as it was written on the note left behind.
so tuesday he goes..again. again the clerk says no box . so wednesday he goes again. and again the guy says no Box . thursday no box ! ok my friend said for sure on friday there must be the box on the gas station. he could and wouldnt go directly to the post office because appearantly thats how the swedish post works they drop it at some close by gasstation instead.
so Friday.. my friend goes after work..all excited. again the guy says sorry No box. my friend kinda said WHAT !! :eek::eek:
What he didnt know was that the highest official of the local post office of Sundsvall was filling his car with gas and was standing behind my friend to wait to pay for the gas. he overheard the conversation and went..WAIT WAIT WAIT a minute let me help you out friend.. and my friend all freaky WHAT ! how can you help...well he said I got some influences. so I guess in swedish he made some phone calles and started BITCH SLAPPING some people over the phone and said to his employee I dont care its Friday 18:00 if that box is not at his house by 20:00 your fired ! This guy was very upset my friend had to wait like 5 days and even more if he would not have been there to help since in Sweden there is no post delivery in the weekends.
at 19:30 my friend got his box..and I bet the monday morning meeting some people got a booty up their asses.
SSLSTudio...
3 months?? :eek: I'll be over here worrying to death about your shipment, if it takes that long.
if you send priority shipping to Sweden it should not take longer then max 6-7 days really !
anything longer will depend on if you send if usps by air , but even they are fast !
if the sweden post office tries to shave with the stuff first yeah well thats out of your Control Queen... :eek:
Dont have an answer on that one.. 4-6 weeks seem nowdays to be "standard" shipping.. As you know I buy loads of stuff from the US.. Say a year ago I would have agreed on the 2 weeks.. But.. last 3-4 shipments has taken a lot longer..
Dont know why..
OK, I guess I did not have as much fun as the rest of you.
1. The cream was thinner then the creams I have used right out of the jar.
2. It was pretty runny too.
3. Took forever to lather.
4. When it did lather, it was thin and airy.
5. Managed to get a shave out of it 1 pass, not horrible but not great either.
6. When I went for pass 2 the lather dried out.
7. I know this will be my last Will and Testament, after JoAnna kills me, tell my wife and son I love them.
Baloosh
08-05-2007, 08:40 AM
Will,
Weird that you experienced that. I used it for the second time this morning, and it's wonderful stuff for me.
It whipped up, although not like one of the traditional 3 "Big T's", in no time, and the cushion and protection was top notch. It had great slickness and lubrication too... which sometimes doesn't happen with creams. And the SMELL -- :drool. Orange is my favorite citrus scent, and this batch has just enough... maybe and Orange/Menthol combination for a future scent? :cool:
This cream's a winner, all the way around. I dunno Will, maybe this heat wave we're going through got to your cream while in transit and broke it down?
Mottern Man
08-05-2007, 08:46 AM
I am hoping so.
BTW the scent was just fine, weak, but nice.
Baloosh
08-05-2007, 08:50 AM
Yeah, the scent is subdued, but I prefer that in my citrus scents (just my opinion). Anything too strong smells like furniture polish or kid's cough medicine or something...
Missed this thread,
I will vote another :happy088, I had several great shaves from JoAnna's cream. It produced a excellent, lubricating lather that left my skin feeling great with no nicks or irritation. It also seperated a bit for me, but was in my mailbox which is black, on a 100 degree day, a few stirs fixed it up nicely.. I also liked the orange scent, it would be great with a little neroli (sp) added.
Thanks JoAnna, for letting us try out your terrific shave cream :D
Well, I gave it another run after the first bad skin reaction. This time it was just fine. A great shave. No reaction at all. Maybe it could have reated with some leftover edt or something. Lather was good, not like The T's, but it was good and creamy. I have the unscented on the way so I will try that one as soon as I get it.
Okay, here's a summary of my experiences:
1) Havta use double the amount of cream
2) I get decent lather in the normal amount of time
3) Have I already said it's the first cream with citrussy EOs that doesn't irritate my skin?
4) it sure does soak them whiskers
5) allows for a nice, close shave
6) good post-shave-feeling
All in all an excellent cream but I wouldn't mind if it could be improved so it doesn't take such a huge amount of product ;)
