Thanks very much, Rick!
Normally I know when it's advisable to take a day off but when I looked into the mirror this morning everything looked fine and rubbing my hands around my mug didn't reveal any "bad spots". So I went off to have a shave and I felt very good while shaving - everything seemed normal. I'dve stopped immediately if I noticed any harm. But then, 10 minutes after shaving, the usual burning, red spots and pimples started to appear.
But, lesson learned, I'll take a day off tomorra - no matter what :D

The funny thing about this diana balm is, that it's not even intended to be used as ASB. It's an old Austrian product made from all-natural ingredients and it's intended to be used on sore muscles after workout, when you've got a sunburn and the likes. But it also works great as an ASB, very soothing, cooling and healing :D

Tried the Erasmic Shave Soap I got yesterday with the usual Merkur Slant Razor. Bowl width is a little small. Tough to get the brush going well. Result? 4.6/5.0 I can certainly learn to like this one.
Rich:
I dont have any Erasmic..........yet ;)
but does the soap puck come outta the container ?
If so:
1. Take puck outta container and hold in non-dominant hand
2. Take hot, damp brush in dominant hand and proceed to charge brush with soap.
3. Place charged brush in scuttle / bowl / counter .
4. Take soapy puck and clean all lather off it wit yo hands
5. Take lathery hands and build PreLather on face
6. Place de-lathered soap puck back in container (nice and neat - like. No mess)
7. Build lather with brush (on face, in bowl / scuttle, on hand)
8. Take lather to face
9. ENJOY !!

Nothing lacking at all, it did kind of seperate in my mailbox, as it was well over 100 degrees inside. I just mixed it as best I could, and whipped up a lather, very nice.
I will need to try it a few more time, but it was Great this morning. An excellent lubricating lather. Did you use EO to fragrance the cream?

Ya, that's one of those mixed up shaves. You went Lime then AV then Dragon's Blood. Should smell you coming a mile away. :D How many days you going to use the Wilkinson Blade? Blades are usually a 3 day thing for me. Day 1 is really sharp and I need more care but can get a really close 2 pass shave. Day 2-3 are perfect. Day 4 is either get rid of it or shave something else like collar line or underarms and then toss.

Well...
I should clarify.
My "plans" for the shave were based around using the Trumpers Lime soap.
I was gonna go BayRum AS and then BayRum ASB to finish (just because i love Ems BR ASB Soooo much).
But.
Day 3 with the Wilkie was too rough and I had some residual irritation on the lower neck region from yesterday.
The Lime soap lathered well and shaved nicely but the combo old blade and slant tore me up.
Hence the double dip of the Velver.
And the Straight Aloe gel pre ASB.
The Dragons Blood EdT was just because I love the smell so much and I needed a "hug" to make me feel better. :o
Dont know how long the Wilkie will last in my other razors but 2 days in the Slant is plenty.

Center neck hollows are the danger zone for me. I can usually get away with no balm everywhere else but I like to make sure there.
And as far as the hug?

I wish I had an answer. I received a large sample from Mike. The sample has a large mouth so I just dip the tip of my finger and the apply to skin. The Tabac cologne is a splash bottle type with a small opening so I just splash a little in my hands and apply. I really dont mind splash cologne in my hands if the hole is small you can control how much cologne you dispense.

The Musgo colonge bottles have nice wide opening. No stopping or anything to keep it from overspilling, so you just have to be careful. I had to use a little perfume funnel to decant the vial I gave to Raf.
I just pour a little in to the palm of my hand, quick rub of the hands and apply to upper chest and neck. Works great.

Trumper LSF/PRE
JoAnnas SC
alum
Old Spice ASL
MB Cucumber ASB
I have to say JoAnnas cream lathers very well, smells nice and works quite well with great skincare-properties. Can't say anything about its ability to soak the whiskers as I had a rather mediocre shave today due to the bad (meaning rough) combination of the Old Standard and the Lord blade.
I'll give it another try the day after tomorrow with my Futur/Derby and I'm sure I'll get a spectacular shave ::
Oh, and by the way: JoAnnas cream is the first containing citrus- EOS that doesn't irritate my face - hooray! :D

Id advice to ditch the Derby now Jeff dont go for a 4th. at 4th the blade has some serious loss in cutting force. but its a YMMV thing to me they are perfect for 3 shaves and since they are so cheap I dont bother with a 4th even though it would probably be a good shave compared to a M3 shave.

First time using the C&E and it was a great cream. I didnt like the smell of it. It didnt smell a think like almond imho. The aqua velva......opened my eyes...burned like hell.....but had a nice cooling effect :P

Isaac, the C&E "almond" smells like muguet or lilac. You're bang on right about that.

Thanks, Klaus!
That is odd that the Orange EO didn't irritate your face. It irritated Jeff and Raf's faces. Raf said he has never had anything irritate his face, and Jeff's skin is sensitive. Makes me wonder.

Sunday
First DE shave in a while. I woke up late this morning and had to shave quickly before church.
Hand of Queen cream (day 2, but I'm gonna have to slow down 'cause I'll run out!)
Vulfix #2234 brush
Gillette "Fatboy" adjustable (dialed in on 9, of course)
Swedish Gillette blade
Geo. F. Trumper's Coral Skin Food
Nice shave. I'll have to use my DEs a little more often for some variety.
Sunday shave!

*For some reason this razor just wasn't getting it done. But after 2 passes, I put the blade in the HD and it got me home. I don't know if it was the Treet blade in the SS or what, but I have never switched razors in the middle of a shave. Blades yes, razor no. I have always had success with the SS's before so I have to chalk it up to razor/blade combo.
The aqua velva......opened my eyes...burned like hell.....but had a nice cooling effect :P
Issac:
After the shave make sure you use this routine
WWR - warm water rinse to clean all the product off your face
CWR - cold water rinse to start the seal
AquaVelva splash - to feel like a man !
The rinses will keep the burn from the Velva way down.
AV Also tones and heals after the brutality you just
put your face through.
