It was a special group buy at one of the other forums, and only so many were made.

Hi All,
I was lucky enough to be around when that original order was put together, and that stuff is a kick to use. First of all, it was made by Charles (always a good sign for an excellent shave). The soap performs as you'd expect, but the lather's a little different than others of his that I've tried. Sometimes, the lather seem to be a little uneven, in that some seems even thicker than the rest. It was noted by a couple other members also, but the shave quality isn't affected at all. Maybe it's a YMMV sorta thing for all I know.
Now.........the scent: This soap is just intense! An enveloping scent of freshly cut ROSE......but NOT a sweet sickly sorta smell. No, this scent is just a pure blast of ROSE, and it sticks around long after my shave is over. Seriously, I need to plan when I'm gonna use it because that scent will be carried around with me for hours.
I'm not trying to steer anyone towards this stuff, and remember that YMMcertainly V when it comes to how things smell to us all. There's also the odd case of the soap not agreeing with a few members faces. I'm just saying that if you wanna try a strongly scented rose soap with a good chance of shaving you well also, this would be a good one to take a chance on. Luckily, I have enough to last me for a while, since I only use it on special days.

Hi there,
It was my pleasure to be able to describe my own experiences with that soap. I don't use a DE or straight, so I'm useless there, but sometimes other subjects come up that I can respond to. That post was really just a short but sincere couple of thoughts.........spur of the moment thing.
Hehe, I was a bit jacked up about that stuff.......... I used it today. I hadn't planned on it, but......maybe a bit impulsive? Nahhhhhhhh. Well, it was a smart choice, whatever the reason.
That's gotta be one of the most intensly scented soap (or cream) of the 20-25 that I've ever sniffed. Man......what a rush every time I inhaled. And yes.........I do, and have for the last couple of hours, smell like roses.
Another great way to make shaving fun, which is the name of the game.

For any disapproving people out there.
This was my soap. I bought it from Will. Who bought it during the group buy.
I do not feel it was tactless nor sleazy to sell my own property.
I do however feel it is wrong of some folks to judge others who have done them no wrong. And to do it behind their backs none-the-less. If you feel something is wrong, you should speak up to the person you feel is doing the wrong.
Anyway, I feel I have nothing to apologize for. I am however open to hearing others' opinions on the matter, as long as the opinions are politely stated, and non-name-calling reasons.

I dont think that anyone has the right to tell you what to do with your property. If you want to sell it....trade it.....or give it away its your business.
Only thing i would think might get people upset...is if you like really wanted that soap.and Will sold it to you and you turned around and sold it for more. Dont know if thats what happened though.

I brought up the possibility of the auction to Will before the auction, to get his input. And he explicitly told me to sell it.

I say you shouldnt have to apologize or explain anything.
On a side note......just wondering....but does that money for the auctions go to you....or the forum or what....just noticed that the auctions are going under the website name...or something to that effect........just curious....

All the profits from auctions benefit The Shave Den.
However, you must take into account shipping and handling charges, ebay and paypal fees, etc. when you figure profit.
sparky5693 (TSD's Administrator) started the Ebay auctions, but I took them over because I have more selling experience on Ebay, and Bobby and I live in close proximity to each other.
All items so far have been Bobby's, or mine, or donated, or bought specifically for the auctions.

I dont wanna talk bad about anyone here....but i dont see what the problem is....for an auction that is benefitial to the whole

I can't see a problem too.
My opinion: A website costs money, right? The owner of the site can spend his own money or get it from members or via advertising on the site or via other profitable ways.
I think the auctions are a very nice idea to get the money for the site and keep it alive. Thanks to all the donators and to JoAnna for spending her free-time to organize the auctions. And certainly thanks to all the bidders.

Thank you for the kind words, Stefan.
Actually, I thought that the Auction Idea was downright clever if not brilliant
as far as benefiting TSD & the expenses it incurs. I have no idea who "owns" the site but whoever it is shouldn't bear the costs of the site which we all enjoy & benefit from so much.
So keep them auctions rolling QOB. You are doing a stellar job & we all gain from your selfless efforts.
One of these days, I'm gonna be a winning bidder on something that set me to drooling & in puts me into
high AD-mode !!!!
A heartfelt thanks to you.

Some people need to get a life.
The forum auctions are a great idea and I hope they go on for a long time.

Joanna, don't pay any attention to what some over at TOP are saying or writing about these auctions.
It's your stuff (or stuff you've been assigned to auction) so if you want to light it on fire, use it to de-grease your BBQ grill, or throw it up for auction on ebay... that should be your choice to make. I see nothing wrong whatsoever with you auctioning anything you want. That goes for anyone.

I haven't been around here for a while, but is Badger and Blade suddenly taboo around these parts? I can't help but feel a little animosity in the usage of "TOP."
Not trying to start WWIII, but like I said, it's been awhile for me here.

Just some friendly forum competition. If you spell it out it creates a hit for the search engines for the other forum. :D
