On a side note, I picked up a 3126 on the recommendation of Joe. First shave with it was today and let me just say WOW. It was firm but soft. Big lofty brush. It was more than i expected. I even lathered my face after the shave cause i enjoyed it so much. For those new people looking for a firm but soft brush....Savile Row is it.

I didnt even know they made ebony. I tried to get a 3828 and they didnt make that model. Im happy i went with the 26 though because its huge. I think the 28 wouldve been a monster.

Just wondering......is there another style other than the 3xxx series we can see?

I don't believe so. I think all of QED's brushes are named off the 3XXX series name.

Yeah, he has Savile Row "Pure" and "Super" badger brushes.

I had a Savile Row 104 (pure badger).....and sold it. BIG mistake. Will be buying it back. It blows the Crabtree & Evelyen Best Badger OUT of the water. In terms of quality, durability, and looks.

Why take Pure over Super.....wouldnt super be better?

Why take Pure over Super.....wouldnt super be better?

Nah......matter of preference.

Super is softer (like your Vulfix 2234?)
Pure is firmer, more scrubby (and cheaper)

I Find the 3126 is a pretty stiff brush....so it gets stiffer than that?

Absolutely.

That's it. Stay tuned, I'm doing a pictorial........a scrubby brush with a shave soap.

LOL...this is the pic I got my SR 3xxx series knot sizes off of....tragically still missing Overall, Handle & Loft dimensions.

since I had to email Charles to figure this out, I'll post what I found

The various series (32, 33, 37, etc.) refers strictly to handle shape.

Would anyone be interested in a Savile Row silvertip with an ebony handle? When I asked Charles -from QED- if he was selling SR-3124 in faux ebony he told me he does not have any. BUT, he said that he might be able to have them made IF he has at least a group of 10 buyers for the same brush. I'm all for one SR-3124 (24mm knot) with an ebony handle. My second option would be an SR-3122 (22mm), which I own in Ivory, and I LOVE IT!!

VOLUNTEERS??

Welcome to The Shave Den, 0mblig0!

I'm all set for brushes myself, but finding 10 people interested in this shouldn't be too hard I'd think.

What is the proper number of brushes to consider oneself "all set" ?

OH, MY GAWD!!!

Yep, it's true for many. Ask DrP, the owner of over 150 of the bushy little things! :) Though he may be closer to 200 by now.

And welcome to The Shave Den!! Glad to have you!
