I know I've heard plenty of people say that after using it, they wash the soap off when they are done, before storing it away.
I personally do not. I think the suds left over kind of help get a good lather going next time.
Who else is cool like me? And who washes their soap off?

I did when I first started, I guess because I actually used to put the soap back in its container before I had a good mug or bowl (I started with Col. Conk, which comes in a little plastic tub with a flip-up lid, so putting slimy soap back in there made a mess). But once I had some better containers to store soaps, I just let 'em dry a bit and cover and put 'em away for the next use!

I make a complete mess, so usually, there is soap pouring out of the tub or whatever, so yes I do rinse them after use......but not to any great extent. Just enough so that the whole container isn't a soapy mess

I wash my soaps off afterwards.

Nope. I charge the brush with soap on the puck in the bowl---rubbing until I start to get lather, then rubbing a bit more---and do the rest on my beard. The lid goes back on the soap with no further intervention. Washing soap? Whoever heard of such a thing?

You have to be really careful when you wash soap. I usually wash mine with a good olive oil bar, otherwise it could dry out. :D

Yep.
I totally agree.
However
................I also moisturize my soap before putting it back in its carrying case.

and NO. I dont wash off my soap.
When building my lather in the soap container I usually use the excess (read: not picked up by brush)
to build a PreLather on my face using fingers only.

Yea mine is a soapy mess too... but usually I just rinse off the container after putting the lid back on.

I don't wash them. I see no reason why I should do this.

Honestly, I usually put the soap back inside whatever container it came in, close the lid, and rinse the outside of the container.

I don't waste my time washing the soap off anymore (I used to because I am pretty tidy).
I see no diffrence in starting off with a clean soap or a dirty soap (oxymoron I know).
YMMV (yada-yada-yada).:D

Why waste good soap? I just wipe off the container lip and put the lid back on.

Why? Cause I have too many anyways!
And I need a reason to buy more, of course. :o

I do wash any excess lather off the sides of the soap bowls, just to keep them looking tidy. Don't really think of it as washing the soap itself.

The only time I wash my soap is if I accidentaly get some stubble on it from shaving (if say I have to recharge by brush halfway through).
Other than that I leave my soaps "dirty". :rofl

Put soap back in container, wipe lather off sides of container, put lid back on container.

Mu extensive rsearch, conducted at both the molecular andthe atomic levels, confirms that the most efficacious lather is generated from soap with an absolutely pristine surface. So, I not only wash my soap, I SHAVE it.
I begin by washing my soap in water as hot as it can bear. A preshave oil is entirely at the user's discretion. I generate the lather with a Vulpius 2234 brush, swirling in an anticlockwise direction. This point is ABSOLUTELY crucial. Some amateurs favor a clockwise swirl, but they vastly underestimate the importance of Avogadro's number here. If you're going to swirl in a clockwise direction, you might as well not shave your soap at all.
Thus far, I have achieved the best results with a Merkur HD and a Feather blade. YMMV, of course. Properly negotiated, three passes are more than sufficient--the first WTG, the second ATG, and the final pass XTG.
I finish with a splash of AS or EDT in a complementary scent. MARVELOUS!
One of these days I shall actually get around to my face.
Time exists so that everything doesn't happen all at once;
Space exists so that everything doesn't happen to you.

I don't wash the soap after usage unless, it's going out on a sale/trade. Then I wash it well and pat it completely dry before sending.
