Alrighty then !!
I know some of y'all like to experiment so lets see your secret recipes.
I'll start:

RNB AS
2 parts Aloe Gel
1 part Witch Hazel
cuppa drops Glycerin
cuppa drops Melaleuca (TeaTree) oil

for my
RNB ASB
I make a 50-50 blend of Nivea ESB and RNB AS
----------------------------------------------
....of course, I am still adjusting and tweaking my recipes !

But to me Tea Tree smells putrid.:signs113
Do You get a bad scent out of your AS combo?

I realize the tea tree oil has a unique aroma, however
the small amount I use does not add a lot of stank.
It also dissapates fairly quickly.
I will add that I seldom use my AS anymore as I prefer
Aqua Velva (MUSK !!) AS splash FIRST followed by my RNB ASB.

Whipped up a batch of "Winter Aftershave Balm" last night. Used it this morning, and it looks VERY promising ;)

I have been through various gyrations of homemade aftershave balms over the past year, none have worked as well as this one. Think I hit the jackpot :D

1/3 cup Olive Oil
1/4 cup Raw, Un-refined Shea Butter (unscented)
1.5 Tbsp Raw, Un-refined Coconut Oil
.5 Tbsp Avocado Oil
.5 Tbsp Almond Oil
.5 Tbsp Jojoba Oil

No water, no preservatives.

I may add some EO's, but for now I'll keep it unscented and continue use ::

You melt the shea butter first first right? I will substitute the coconut oil for cocoa butter on mine just to try it out.

Kinda.

I baked some french fries in the oven last night, and after they were done I put the glass bowl containing this mixture on the oven for about 15 minutes. It was very warm, but not scalding hot.

Anyway.....nothing happened, didn't melt.

So I left it in the closet overnight after poking and stirring the mixture with a chopstick in anger (thinking I would dump it out in the morning). When I woke up, the mixture had turned into a homogeneous blend  Was like the stuff underwent a chemical reaction

Not sure that cocoa butter is completely non-comedogenic (but you may have known that)

Is that the Chic Afrique stuff? I find it a lot better than the Epicurean Shea Butter after using both for abut 4 months now. I think I have everything here except the coconut oil. Think I use almond oil instead?

Indeed, Chic Afrique "Ori" Raw Shea

Almond oil is in there already, I would say leave out the coconut oil (which is a solid at room temp) if you don't have it, or just "up" the shea butter quantity.

ps - Still works great, day 4 :D

Also, you don't need very much, I am using what amounts to about a pea sized portion.....and I not only apply it to shaven-area, but to the whole face.

I haven't seen it at Trader Joe's.......but Whole Foods definitely has it, the Vitamin Shoppe "may" have it, and Wild Oats "probably" has it.

Homemade Bay Ice ASL

you will need:
- alcohol (I used grain schnapps, but you can also use cosmetic alcohol, vodka or whatever you like - but it should be a "clean" spirit.)
- menthol crystals (I'm not sure on the dosage here, but a little goes a long way, so, maybe 2g of menthol per 100ml of alcohol. Menthol-heads could try 5g/100ml)
- dried Pimento seeds (fruit?) or Bay leaves (there are 2 kinds of bay - the one used for cooking is the wrong one ;) )
- Glycerine (5-10% of the amount of alcohol i.e. for 100ml of alcohol you use 5-10ml of glycerine)

Cook up the alcohol, when it boils, add the menthol crystals and remove the pot from the stove. ATTENTION: Beware of inhaling the fumes! Add Glycerine and the Pimento seeds or the Bay leaves after the alcohol has cooled down a tad and pour the stuff it in a (marmelade)-glass. Let the whole stuff sit at a bright place (but no direct sunlight!) for 6-8 weeks. After that you can remove the seeds/leaves and pour the AS into your desired bottle. Use as an aftershave ;)
