I have some colognes I like that don't really match my aftershaves. Lately, I've been using the cologne as an aftershave. Seems to work just fine. Anyone else do this?

I am sure it would work, all clubman is, really just Fragrance and Alcohol
But I would add a little witch hazel and glycerin to it.

I think some aftershaves can double as colognes but I don't know about colognes doubling as aftershaves. For me, that'd make an expensive aftershave. Also, if your colognes are as strong as mine, you would *ahem* annonce yourself a mile away.

My colognes seem to fade in intensity fairly quickly. The Skye by Trumper, for example. Fine as an aftershave---and I believe the cologne and the aftershave are the same price. I probably use less of a cologne than the splash aftershave, too, which helps.

Yeah, I think you should be fine with the cologne as an aftershave....you just may be missing out on the healing/soothing effects that "real" aftershaves have, such as what Doc mentioned: glycerin, witch hazel, allantoin, menthol, etc.
