Independence Day here in the U.S. on 4 July. Hope everyone has a good week. There'll be no independence from the *ADs, I'm sure! :rofl

So show us what ya got!!

I'll start. I hope to have this beauty (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150135765438&rd=1&rd=1) in my hands before the end of the week.

Went to San Marcos and Round Rock outlets outside of Austin TX this weekend. Both had Crabtree & Evelyn outlets, both were an almost complete disappointment.:angry019

Erah, I thought an outlet meant cheaper prices, not so with C&E I guess as all their creams were the same as the regular store back home in Dallas.

But, I did find a couple of deals.

At the first one I picked up two very small pure bristle brushes, and 3 bars of Nomad bath soap. Figured I could pass on the bristle brushes to newbies, or use them for a travel brush.

At the second location they had less, but they were participating in the buy 2 get one free sale that the regular stores are having. So I picked up a tube of Nomad, Sandalwood and Sienna, and three pucks of their Almond shave soap.

Other than the almond shave soap, they had no other almond shaving cream. I knew it was discontinued in the tub, but now I've found it's been discontinued in the tube as well. :angry019

2 boxes arrived at the same time. 1 from Joe C and one From Bill.

They have been restoring some of my vintage razors I aquired.

will do a special later on whats done per razor ( and make the usual Money shots ) if I can find the original razors how they looked. I will test them all , but most of these are projects to be resold again. I will make straight razor starter kits.

I went to a drugstore to look if they had more different VGH items they have but not interesting to us I think canned VGH Gel and foam . and another VGH Balsem that looks different then the one I sell so there are 2 versions of VGH b balsem out there or maybe 1 product but 2 different packing I dont know till I try it myself.
Saw the Tabac Cream..so speaks for itself OWNED.

- Tabac Cream (new item for Barberculture )
- several straights (Utica, Shapleigh, Satin edge Dubl Duck, Wostenholm )
- New version of shave soap from Italian farm.
- 2 Vintage Hone stones.

9/8 Spencer Lens Frameback Wedge. An interesting straight, although it says Germany on the tang there is no mention of Solingen specifically. The razor itself is huge, the blade is nearly 4" long and it is a full wedge. Pretty good condition, tiny bit of tarnish, but nothing some MAAS can't take care of.
Now for the scales I'm thinking Fiddleback Kauri with a Mother-Of-Pearl end cap, but I'm open to suggestions.
Can't seem to upload a picture into my gallery, so here's a link (http://cgi.ebay.com/SUPER-LARGE-CELLULOID-HANDLE-STRAIGHT-RAZOR_W0QQitemZ300122672739QQihZ020QQcategoryZ3599 0QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) to the ebay listing.

Alex

Excuse the poor picture, my camera has a flash problem right now, so it was manually lit.

I gather the small little white one is the JM Fraser, cause it sure smells like the tub of it I got.

Today was a good day. :D Three packages arrived, pictures to follow....

Package #1: My new (used) Shavemac VLB! Included was a few bonus items from the seller, two tubs of Prosaso shave soap and a handful of Israeli Shalom DE blades. Most generous!

Package #2: Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Cologne. Long story behind this. The Reader's Digest version, the first two bottles arrived broken. Third time's the charm.

Package #3: Rudolf Schmidt Solingen 9/16 round point SR via Mr. William Ellis, thanks Bill! Of all my newly acquired items, I'm most excited about this one. I have the Lynn Abrams dvd and I'm anxious to give SR shaving a go. Still need a strop though, so I have some time to view the dvd before I hack off a lip. :shocked003

From my boy in Canada (Thanks again, as always, 'Zuk!)

QTY 2 Erasmic shave soap
QTY 2 Erasmic cream tubes
QTY 2 Ingram cream tubes
European Palmolive shave stick
European Palmolive cream tube
Boots shave stick
QED Lavender soap tub
Culmak shave soap refill (smells AWESOME)
DeVGH cream tube

With the recent Erasmic/European group buys, and this score from up North, I think I'm set for life on the Ingram and Erasmic front! Total count:

7 Erasmic tubes
4 Erasmic sticks
3 Erasmic bowls
5 Ingram tubes
2 European Palmolive tubes

Hmmmm... I think I might need just a *bit* more Ingrams... then I'm good to go. :drool

Can't wait to try this Culmak soap... smells incredible.

I think the Erasmic soaps and sticks are going to end up as trade bait... the Erasmic bowl isn't large enough (for me) to lather properly, even with my smallest brush (Plisson EW #12), and I can't tell any scent difference between the soap and cream, so I plan on sticking with the creams. For some reason, the Erasmic scent is one of the best smelling creams I've ever smelled... including all the 3 T's, etc.

Oh, and can't forget, in a trade:

DR Harris Arlington soap (in wooden bowl)
DR Harris Marlborough cream (sample)

More high-end soaps should be in the mail on their way to me... but that's for next week's score thread! ;):D

+1 on the Cavendish Black, haven't smelled the Desert Ironwood, but everything I have tried from Colleen has smelled absolutely divine! :drool

Colleen's soaps are among my very favorites when it comes to performance. She (luckily for me) makes two scents that I love, (neither being the Cavendish or Ironwood) and I alternate between those and a few HBS soaps as well. I've tried almost all the TGQ fragrances, and can see how they'd be so popular. Her custom blends are very unusual, although the way they hit you is a definite YMMV sort of thing.
Yep........only 4-5 soaps in my rotation, not including the occasional QED and now to be added Mamabear soaps to round things out. Pretty dull maybe, but I know exactly the kind of shave (poifect!) I'm gonna get with whatever soap I'm using.
I like all three recently ordered flavors from our hostess, but of course the hunt for THE perfect scent to put on my face can take a while. I went through a number of each of the above vendors products before finding the ones that were special (to my nose only of course).
It's nice to see smaller size soaps and creams offered up like Colleen does. Reading other member's opinions of her scents will NEVER give you an idea of how they affect you personally. The one ounce size makes it easy to order a good selection, and yes.......another larger order would tend to follow.....heh. I noticed that suzie bubbles is also offering a similar size, with a minimum of 6 pieces to an order ( seems fair to me).
My problem is I know I'll have to order more things from Sue, all based on finding the perfect scent. I KNOW her soaps works great on my face (used it again today), so now it's more of a 'fine tuning' sort of thing. I'm sure I can make room in my meager regular rotation for a Mamabear soap or two, but that smell has to hit me juuuuuuuuuuuuuust right. No problem using what I have now, but the monkey never hops off my back for any length of time. I'll be thinking about my next purchase before too long ( a very nervous chuckle thrown in).
