The Floris SC is quite amazing. Nice scent, slick lather, very protective.
The Gillettes are once more a surprise. The first Gillette Super Silver I had, they came in a white box and were not wrapped blades, were very nice and I enjoyed them very much. The second were in a different white box and also not wrapped. They were just good enough for the dust bin. The one I have now is a single wrapped blade. It is similar to the first very enjoyable. Thx TomH.

I got the Antelope at an antique store cheap. The blade was tarnished, but was gorgeous underneath. The scales were beyond eaten up, though, so I replaced them with some ebony wood scales. The blade was dream to hone and took a great edge.

Yes - Add some cream. Personally, I enjoy combining my williams soap with US Palmolive "Red" Lather cream, but any cream should do the trick.

I first lather the williams on the face, then add a little cream to the breech of the brush, and go back to face and build it up into a thick, luxurious lather. I have gotten some of my best shaves doing this precise thing.

I agree, my favorite piece from the Dead.

Has a entirely different feel, much warmer, then again I'm still using Macintosh Tube Amp & preamp, Sota Turn table, Shure V cartridge, and Klipsch Chorus (original) speakers. Nothing I have is less than 20 yr.s old.;).

The Gillette is real crab. Two shaves on the one side and it is finished. Today I turned it and used the other side and it was a painful shave and not very close.
The Aroma for men AS jelly is fabulous. Nice scent, very good to the skin and much lighter than a balm. It's made in Bulgaria and unfortunately you can't get it here in Germany.

BBS! Found out very quickly I would have to be careful with this razor. It is quite aggressive. Take your time and pay attention and it is a wonderful experience, after all this razor is 89 years old. It was very reminiscent of my first str8 shave. I do think I will leave it on display though, rather than on the shave shelf.

After using the Fatboy for SOOO long, I decided to shake things up a bit and go back to my first DE razor -- the '58 SS. MUCH lighter than the Fatboy, and a very mild shaver... allows me to take many more passes than I usually can with the Fatboy.

Man, all the Harris hype about their soaps is well-deserved. The Arlington scent is very subtle, almost to a fault. But the performance and post-shave skin feeling is out of the world!! I'm going to have to pick up some of the Marlborough cream... my sample of it has convinced me it needs to be in my rotation.

People, on a serious note -- the Proraso A/S splash might just be giving my favorite Aqua Velva a run for its money... the scent of the Proraso splash isn't NEARLY as pronounced as the AV (which is a bad thing) but the menthol kick and skin care is right up there alongside it (which is a good thing).

Have not tried the Proraso ASL but them is some strong words against the AV, Can you post up an listing of what is in it, after I did some research on the ASB listing at TJ's advice I backed off and would like to know what the SPLASH has. Thanks Brudder!

Ingredients:
Alcohol Denat, Water, Propylene Glycol, Parfum, Hamamelis virginiana, Allantoin, Menthol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Geraniol, Linalool, Caramel, C 1 42090, C 1 47005.

Those last two, apparently, are FD&C Blue #1 and Yellow #10, respectively. And I never looked that closely at the ingredients on this one... "Caramel?" :eatdrink023

Alcohol, Witch Hazel, Menthol. All it needs is some Sandalwood EO and it would be perfection in a bottle. In fact, Aqua Velva + this stuff = Heaven.

I am always surprised at the amount of lather and slickness of Charles’ soaps. There was at least enough lather for three 3 pass shaves in the lather bowl.

It was also my first use of the Mitchell’s soaps, VERY moisturizing. This will have to become part of my regimen.

Oh dear, that Derby-blade was past its due date and it tore me up really bad. At first I thought it was a great shave but 15 minutes afterwards my neck went red and started to burn. With the help of pure shea butter the burn disappeared within half an hour, but still, a bad shave.
