Result: 4.3/5.0 Not quite BBS. I stopped at 3 passes with no clean up because I wanted to shave my front neckline while I still had a sharp blade. You can forget the Aqua Velva, I'm a fan of Em's Minty Menthol Aftershave. :D As a note to the slant and similar headed razors, I always check the blade alignment just before final tightening. It does make a difference in how the slant works and may save you some cuts and irritation.

Result: 4.7/5.0 BBS and it calmed right down from the tiny tiny amount of redness. This was one of the days where I was I didn't want to put the brush down. Honeybee Old Spice Soap Scent just kept me painting over and over. :D The glide today just kept the Slant/7am gliding smoothly. For me, the test is my left side neck hollow and jawline. If a soap or cream treats that spot right then it passes the test.

It was a Musgo Real Day and I tried out the Epicurean Shea Butter Soap finally. I must have been real happy with all this stuff and I really was, because I was just skating the Merkur Slant across my face without really thinking about it and went OH S*** what am I doing!! It's OK, the Musgo Real Cream kept me from killing myself. :D I did have one rough patch (left neck hollow) though and when the Musgo Real Aftershave hit it....

So, I'd give it a 4.1/5.0 for the shave and 3.0/5.0 for idiocy but, hey! I was really enjoying myself. As far as the shea butter soap is concerned? I've already got the site book marked and plotting my next purchase. I know Vitamin Shoppe carries it but only about 5 versions. Lather, lather, lather and oh so nice to the skin. Between this and Issy soap, I'm set.

Thanks to the help on how to use the stick properly, I had a really nice shave. I think part of the reason sticks works so well is because you are massaging your beard hairs right at the start as you apply the stick to your face. I didn't get a super thick lather, but a slick protective one that was easy to rebuild from what I had on my brush.

OK, I totally reek of Bay Rum. :D Good thing this stuff dries down quick. Now I only half reek. The shave went well. 4.5/5.0 I ended up first passing with the Merkur Gold HD Classic then doing my cheeks and parts of my neck with the str8 for pass 2 and 3. I finished off the shave with the HD for ATG and cleanup.

I got many, many compliments on the Vergulde Hand aftershave.......it smells just like the soap. The ladies love it :D

Oh, and as for the Williams Deodorant, yes....it smells like Aqua Velva :drool:drool:drool

The EarthPure Shaving soap is without a doubt the worst one I tried so far, You get no lather what so ever.. Nada... Siltch.. Nope.. Utterly and totally useless.. The scent is very nice though.. But the soap is, as a shaving soap, total Crap!! I tried different techniques and brushes.. No good - still crap..

Finally I restorted to the Arko Cream to salvage my not that good shave..
Oh Well - there is always tomorrow..

First shave with the GEM...WOW, very different! they say it's the closest thing to a straight razor and they're right. I'll have to try it a few more times. No cuts or weepers, and that's always considered a successful shave.
