If you don't mind my asking, what's a "French Green Clay Mask"?

QED.
Charles has the best I've tried, and at $8.95 for a 1 lb. bag, it's a hell of a bargain.

Haven't got any, but if I were to buy some it would be from QED.

I bought a 5 pound jar of Green Clay made by NOW for my wife, it seems to be identical to most others we've seen or tried. I found it online for $15.00 on sale also bought a couple jars of Morocan (sp) red clay 8oz each for $3 each..
It was a pretty good deal, I think the 6 pounds shipped was less than $30 and will last a long time. ;)

Alright peeps. JUST because I like you guys (and gals) and JUST because I'm an idiot goofball, here's tonight's mask.
Brought to you courtesy of the Rockin' Snowman on my shirt. He's playing his snow shovel like a guitar, hence my KISS-like expression and "Devil's Horns" gesture.

Oh go
Possession of the mind is a terrible thing
Its a transformation with an urge to kill
Not the body of a man from earth
Not the face of the one you love, cause
Well, I turned into a martian
Woah oh oh
I cant even recall my name
Woah oh oh
Times I never hardly sleep at night
Woah oh oh
Well, I turned into a martian today
I walk down city streets
On an unsuspecting human world
Inhuman in your midst
This world is mine to own, cause
Well, I turned into a martian
Woah oh oh
Well, I cant even recall my name
Woah oh oh
Times I never hardly sleep at night
Woah oh oh
Well, I turned into a martian today
Go go
Well, I turned into a martian
Woah oh oh
Well, I cant even recall my name
Woah oh oh
Times I never hardly sleep at night
Woah oh oh
Turned into a martian
Woah oh oh
Cant even recall my name
Oh, wont you tell me what the F is my name, martian
Woah oh oh
Woah oh oh

I would hope that I don't look anything like that, but I probably do. ;)
It's a pretty ridiculous picture, even given the (obvious) need of a haircut and the Guitar Hero pose.

So, what exactly is the purpose of a clay mask?
I'm 30 and still tend to get IMO quite a bit of acne. Would adding a regimen like this help?

Looks good Jason :D ,
Yes, the clay absorbs excess oils from your skin and helps pull or draw them from you pores into the clay, the NOW clay I bought also recommends a few drops of Jojoba oil and a few drop of Lavender essential oil be added to the mixture.
My wife and I both like it with the Jojoba and Lavendar added, the Lavender gives it a nice tingle. It makes our faces / skin feel better too...;)
Nice photo, Duder !
Lovie and I "mask" together 1 to 2x per month.
The clay really pulls all the muck and junk from your pores and leaves your face feeling very clean.
It also removes all the moisture from your skin so it is VERY important to moisturize immediately after using the mask.
I get mine from www.qedusa.com
.....maybe I'll post a photo later....

I picked up some NOW European clay from Whole foods last night. It was either that or Aztec brand clay (which is betonite).
I used some of this stuff last night, looks just like the QED stuff, but is available locally for $5 for 8ozs (dry).
Should last a while. Has anyone used this? I'm sure it's not as good as QED, but want to make sure I was at least using the same kind of clay.

I picked some up at Whole Foods... but I'll have to order some from QED, either Whole Foods was out of the less expensive stuff, or they just decided to charge a lot for what I got :)

I got 8 ounces(dry) of NOW european clay at Whole foods for $6. Doubt it's as good as QED, but still seemed pretty good to me.

Just reading up on this topic, as I also for quite some time have wanted to try the green stuff.
Anyway as a few of you already know of this place http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/clay/clay.html and they have quite a good write up on different types of clays and what each one is suited to use wise.
I did email them asking which would suit my oily skin type, and they answered back advising that they as sellers are not in a position to advise on anything. But in the next paragraph did go on to say that plain old Fullers earth clays have the strongest pulling power for oily skin types.
I thought if I'm going to buy I might get one of each, Fullers Earth, French Green clay, and Rhassoul clay, along with some Hydro-sols which they also sell. I figure Lavender and Lime hydro-sols.
Has anyone dealt with this company, and what are their shipping rates like?
Cheers

Members on B&B have gotten very good results from them.
I emailed them about acne and they told me the same thing about not being allowed to give medical advice. Still, they gave me these suggestions:
I'd say you might look into Rosehip Seed, Tamanu, Sea Buckthorn, and Vitamin E oils, as well as our Classic Rose Facial oil.
Lavender and Lime oils or hydrosols are also good. A few drops in your French Green Clay or Fuller Earth's Clay should make a very potent facial concoction.

Thanks Telly,
I would like to give them a whirl I think. Now I will have to check out the US postal service to see what costs for shipping to Oz with maybe 3 1/2lbs package.
I did ask them if they would ship 1/2 lb lots but nah not interested.
Cheers

Just as an update, shipping rates for me to Oz from Moutain Herbs they want over $60 for a 3 1/2lb package, bit extreme I think cost more in shipping than the product itself.

I own a horse equipment company. (Not my day job) We ship Western Show Horse Equipment worldwide. Fancy silver bridles, bits, halters, saddles and so on. We can't even ship a saddle to AU due to the prohibitive shipping cost for the customer. It's becoming more popular in AU.

That's very interesting, and yes the penny has just dropped, I can now work out what your nick means as in quarter horses do it all. I must be a Queenslander or something (sorry James only joking)
We have a reputation here for good quarter horses, are they the same as the American quarter horse?
Sorry I have got way of topic here. :signs080

Relaxing right now with a nice mask on. Then after I wash it off I will put a little Da Vinci water on. Then a glass of Johnnie Gold. This is exactly how the directions say to do it. Scotch is optional. ;)
Howzat? They might as well include it in the instructions :D

I bought some of this stuff.
So you just take a half cup of clay, add a touch of water, and just carefully add water until it's in the "thin paste" category, then apply? That's what I've gleaned from the included instructions.
Apparently you can also mix some in some water, let it settle overnight, and drink the liquid. Perhaps I'll pass on that. :signs113
1/2 cup is too much !!
Start with about a tablespoon of clay and add the same amount of water / hydrosol (DaVinci water) to the clay.
Add more water to "taste".
I like my clay a little more runny than the norm.....tends to dry a bit faster.

I got 8oz of french green clay at whole foods...it is more expensive there than from QED (cost the same for 1/2 pound versus full pound from charles, but no shipping and I got it in my grubby paws immediately). I think I got "Aztec" something brand (100% french green clay)...

I have tried it with regular witch hazel, rose petal witch hazel (both Thayer's) and with just water. Honestly, I preferred it with just the water added...

I'll be putting this in the CoC as well.
1-2 tablespoons french green clay (however much is needed)
3-6 drops Swiss Pitralon
Niiiiiice scent that sticks around, plus my face benefits from the great healing properties of the SP.
