They're generated based on number of posts. Custom titles can pop up at any time, though, if you do/say something noteworthy to the mods. ;)

To be more pedantic, it can be spelled either way, and on some of the more ....ummmmm ....... "manly" sites (not that this is not a manly site, just not as much "kick in the door and shoot 'em in the face" as some others), having a name that starts with "Sisy" is not such a good idea!
I get the occasional "Syphilis" and "Sissy-fuss", but I take 'em in stride!
