I know this info is around here somewhere, but I can't take the time to search through all the threads that came up in the search, because the strain on my eyes(diabetic retinopathy) is killing me.
I want to know everything you guys can tell me about Valobra soap. I bought the Menthol version, but tell me about the Almond version too, please.

I have the Valobra menthol soft soap. I find it provides a very good lather with the nice mentholated feeling. It is slick and gives good cover. I like it. As been discussed previously, I know people around here including myself, have placed the soap in a different container to make it easier to use. I put mine in an empty Trumper pot. Can't help you with the Almond as I don't have it. But the Valobra mentholated soft soap is a keeper.

I know Trader Joe is a big fan of the Menthol version. Not sure if he has the Almond.

I do not have almond.....but my guess is that its very similar to Cella Crema Sapone. Which is anything but heavily scented. Just a nice, clean, mellow almond scent.

Cella Crema da Sapone is very similar in scent indeed to Valobra almond, as well as texture--Cella, though, is lighter in scent.

Know of any place to get it in the US? So far the only place I can find it online is olivia, and I was hoping to find a US supplier.
Why pay $12 for Valobra, when you can get Cella for less? They sound so similar.

You might try www.smallflower.com
C.O. Bigelow (the online version) has also carried it....thats where I got mine.
~~~And finally -------> Cella does not have a menthol version
Nope, those are both out. They carry valobra, but not Cella Sapone.
Looks like I'll be putting in an order to Olivia soon.
And you're right about the Cella, only one scent which is somewhat similar to Valobra Almond. But if I want menthol, it's going to have to be valobra.
thanks,
~Joshua
Pick up some Amber cream and Bay Rum bath soap while you are at Olivia's :D
I've tried her Amber cream. Good, but her Churchill is better IMO, and I just traded for a tub of bay rum cream.
I'm actually trying to trade off the Amber for another scent.
Do you know if her bay rum bath soap smells the same as her cream? It's a bit strong on the clove scent for me, which is why I'm asking.
I was kinda hoping for any lathering tips or advice for using Valobra.
Guess I should have been more specific in saying "everything". :ashamed001
If I remember correctly, someone had trouble lathering Valobra.
Describe your process?
Some people pick a chunk off and swirl the brush around, whereas others (including me) just press the entire block into a mug and swirl it like a regular soap.
This stuff lathers very easily, and very thick......all you need is hot water and moistened brush ;)
I didn't actually have a problem, once I tried lathering, but I thought others might like to know.
When I did a search for "Valobra" here at TSD, I had plenty of threads come up, but I figured one central thread about it might help others.
Besides, my eyes are in no condition to scan through hundreds of posts.
BTW, I bought my Valobra at London's Bathecary for $10. They also had the stick, for $8 I think. But I can't find it on their website. :confused:
I noticed most places sell it for $12, including smallflower and some guy on Ebay.
I'll go on the record (possibly again) saying that the Valobra Primula bath soap is of excellent quality:
http://www.valobra.com/primula001_int_pul_chi_270.gif
Primula: This super-fatted soap with its high content of vitaminic substances and lecithin softens and beautyfies the skin. It is suited for babies particularly and for very delicate complexions generally.
