Reminds me of that one comedian talking about how he was raised down south(i think) and in college he was room mates with a guy from NYC and on the first night of being together the guy from NY says "Ey man, this is great... wanna go halfs on a pie?"

And he was like, I thought that was weird, halfs on a pie. No one's ever asked me that. So we got half pepperoni and half pumpkin.

I think Brian Regan was the comic... He's got a stand up special on Sunday on Comedy Central. If you're free you should watch it, he's a really funny guy.

Occasionally I'll indulge in a chicago style, but normally i'm all about that thin chewy NY style.

Why can't we all just get along? They're two very different styles and I love 'em both! Depends on the mood I'm in. Last pizza I bought was from UNO's and I thought it was quite good. That's the closest I can get to Chicago style without getting on a plane. NOBODY sells it in CT - except UNO.

Actually, the last few times I've been in NYC, I've had pizza and wasn't particularly impressed. Not the STYLE so much as the flavor. One of the restaurants was Lombardi's, supposedly the oldest joint in the city. Loved the place - pie was just okay.

Now, Carnegie Deli on the other hand.....

The best pizza in the world is Flegrea in Turin, Italy. Thin crust, cooked quickly in a brick oven, fresh mozzarella but not too much, ungodly good sauce, great meat, and a touch of fresh basil. It's heaven on earth.

I don't know what "style" it is but we make home made pizza pie. My wife and I buy the pre-made dough at the local supermarket and add what ever we like on them. Always need a little red basil. Maybe some day I'll get to try a Chicago pizza.

NY is a more widely consumed and an easier duplicated style, and probably gets more accolade than it deserves when compared to Chicago. I never had a good Chicago pizza until I went there and had one. Many pizza places outside of Chicago confuse thick crust with Chicago style. I love all well made style's of pizza for the record. That said, California Pizza Kitchen is an insult to well made pizza, and Little Caesar's and Dominos Pizza is not really pizza at all.

Little Caesar's and Dominos.... I'd rather eat frozen pizza.

And those are two of my daughter's favorite pizzas. I think she has seen the error of her ways on the Caesar's. She still loves the pull away garlic/cheese bite crusted Domino's though. :( She does admit that the NY pizza we get is best. They just don't have the crust she wants.
