No, this really is the SoS picture. I had been thinking how different razors worked better on some parts of my face, so I really did use ALL this for my shave today. Pretty much in order from left to right (minus the hot towel). Proraso pre-shave scrub. Used the Dovo Shavette with a Fromm blade for the sides to just below jawline. Finished pass 1 WTG with the Slant. The Futur on 2 was used for XTG (minus the cheeks) on pass 2, and the Vision (minimal setting) for XTG/ATG on pass 3. Slant for touch-up. The lather is HoneyBee Sue's Dragon's Blood, using a BK12 and the super-sized Wal-Mart scuttle. Alum block, Thayer's, Proraso ASB (Ooops, pictured out of order!), and finished with the Ogalllala Bay Rum. Whew! Feather blades in the three DEs.
Really, not a lot more trouble than a one-razor shave; little longer on cleanup. But it was really nice...

Shaving Bowl: Petco 4" Stainless Steel Pet Water Bowl
Shaving Cream: Em's Place Em's Lathering Lime & Citrus Shave Cream (Really nice stuff and Note to Myself: A little goes a long way)
Technique: WTG/45XTG/45XTG Cleanup
Post Shave
Aftershave: Em's Place Minty Menthol Aftershave and Body Splash (For the Menthaholics around here, all I can say is WOW!! is this nice stuff)
Cologne: Mama Bear Spellbound Cologne (I love this scent. I got the complete set. It's warm, sexy and cozy and not overpowering.)
Result: 4.6/5.0 OK, this was one heck of a pleasant shave experience. Em's cream performed wonderfully and the Lime & Citrus had just the right amount of subtlety to it. It lathered a huge thick amount. I could of used half the usual amount. The aftershave? Talk about face shock and cool down. I had to wait 15 minutes before my face stopped tingling before adding the cologne. And the cologne? Well I'm sitting here feeling warm and fuzzy and wish I was home at the moment with my wife. :D

Well, that might work... But, aside from the fact that's it's almost (SWMBO is watching) the most luxurious thing that's ever touched my face, one advantage of the BK12 is that it helps you use up that enormous inventory of soaps and creams that you have collected, so that when you die, there will be only 30% of it left unused, as opposed to 60%. :D:D
So, if I used a different soap/cream each pass, lessee, carry the 2, cross product of the |S|vector with the |U|vector... Oh heck, I'm gonna hafta write a program to figger this...;)

Really? Can we watch? :D
This was funny at first, but it started me thinking. Could I really shave with my eyes closed? Actually, I think I could (although not with a str8). Of course I might have to have my eyes open to find things, to lather, etc. But the actual shaving is pretty much feel. (I know all about this. From age 6 I have been 20/550 or so vision-wise, and routinely shaved without my glasses in an ordinary mirror, which is about looking at an image 6 feet away.) I recently installed a swing-out 5X magnification mirror, which I think is a nice thing. But I could live without it.

This is one of the reasons we do super lathers. Two products at once. And here I thought it was to create more luxurious lathers. :D
OK, so, if I use an unscented cream as a pre-lather, a soap and cream as a super lather, one of them unscented. That would give me three products. If I did a clean up pass with a hand smoothed cream or shave stick then that would be four products. How am I doing? :D

Well, actually, (read: seriously speaking) the super lathers are something I think are really worth investigating. I've tried a few combinations, and been very pleased. But you're right, as usual. It will help use up the excess SC/SS in the world! ;)

I do super lathers maybe 1 in 10 shaves. They are very nice but, it takes me twice as long to decide what I want to use. The one easy part is I stick to one part is unscented. I'd go nuts if I started pairing up scents. I know there are some fantastic recipes for doing just that though. Work is never done. :D

Did his legacy die with him or did he pass his recipes and business on to someone? This is always a concern with the wonderful little mom and pop operations we love so much. We lose a great person and their wonderful products unless they arrange to pass the recipes and techniques on. Will has you to mourn him at least.
Ive heard rumors there are experimental blends attempting to recreate
the man's legacy. ;)

Well sort of, but compared to your Independence Day its a very small thing.. Actually - up to a few years ago it was an ordinary working day.. Its a bit strange cause no one seem to be able to determine WHY we celebrate.. It could be the union with Norway, or it could be that Charles XII (Old king) died.. or... or... well you get the picture..
I have been working as usual today.. But Im having my day off tomorrow so I guess Im gonna find me a beer or two ::

Result: 4.3/5.0 I skipped the third pass. The 7AM blade chatters too much and I wanted to concentrate on cleanup instead of risking a dig into my neck. I hand smoothed the soap with extra water to increase the glide factor and kept on hydrating and smoothing while I blade buffed the jawline and a couple of neck patches. The one area of Mama Bears soaps that I have to pay attention to is once I go over an area, I can't go over it again because the soap quickly dries the skin until I rinse and re-lather.

Hello Rich,
Cerrus is a own brand of a big chemist's shop called "Rossmann", http://www.rossmann.de/servlets/Compose/SID=c1l9zcAr264m/f_index.html
There's also shaving cream, after shave, canned shaving foam etc., available.
The members in the German forum are not sure, which business produces the CERRUS blades...??
Thursday, Corpus Christi, here in Germany:

Try less water. I noticed that I always used little water when whipping in a mug. The burma was good for it but others were just too slick when whipping with the amount of water I usually used. I had no problems with it.

I do like the Avalon Shampoo & Conditioners
They are good for everyday use, as they are gentle.....and especially in the winter when the air is dry. But sometimes, you need something with a little more "ooomph" ;)
