I'd like to open up the floor for discussion on the Tryphon shave soaps, as I just got a tub of "Mentolo" from a good friend....and was mesmerized my the scent [menthol, peppermint, etc. - very refreshing :drool]. Of course the first thing I did after sniff, was lather...several times, with different brushes.

I must say I'm rather impressed, it lathers thick and slick. I'll be shaving with it shortly and a review will be on tap ASAP.

With that said, who has tried them? What do you think?

The one mysterious factor is: what is in it? I'd appreciate a FULL ingredient listing if anybody has it. There are things I like to avoid in a shaving soap i.e. SLS, Proplyene Glycol

I tried but I did not get a full report form the man himself.

However what he told me It sounded like very natural product however he could have been BS-ing me.

Glad you're digging the Mentolo so far. It was, for me, hands down the most Menthol kick of any soap I've tried. Granted, I've not tried all available soaps, but if you're into Menthol at all, definitely give the Mentolo a try.

I know that there was some disagreement originally when the Tryphon soaps debuted over at TOP, with some claiming the soaps don't lather worth a damn, and others claiming they lather on par with other glycerin-based soaps. For me, I've experienced rich, thick, slick lather -- just like you're describing.

It shaved like a champ too. Be sure to follow up and let us know how it treats you. I've been wondering how it does with a straight razor shave. ;)

Duder - with this humidity I'm getting hit with, I'm going to need a tanker full of menthol
