1x foreign language dvd

What language?

crackstar
05-14-2007, 07:22 PM
Hindi, which is one language I'm very interested in learning.

qhsdoitall
05-14-2007, 07:49 PM
Good for you! Always nice to learn a new language. My ear is shot for language. I have a hard time with English now. :D

crackstar
05-14-2007, 07:55 PM
Rich, I beg of you not to think I'm bragging, because, I sure don't mean to, but I speak French, Hebrew, Arabic, English, Spanish, Italian, Greek, German, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, and Swahili fluently. I come from a European background, so foreign languages are a must. Anyone can learn a foreign language if they really apply themselves.

qhsdoitall
05-14-2007, 08:21 PM
You're not bragging. Just talented. My dabbling in languages was limited to French, Latin and Japanese. I can learn them but, I can't "hear" the tonal nuances any more. My daughter is trying to teach me Spanish. :D

crackstar
05-14-2007, 08:45 PM
well, the tonality of certain languages, particularly, Asian or African languages, can be complicated for Westerners. Swahili, for example is an African language, which has a large number of Arabic words in it, because of the Moslem influence brought to east Africa by Arab traders and businessmen many years ago. It's a very nice language, and easy for an Arabic-speaking person to learn, especially the Swahili spoken in Tanzania, or Kenya. Swahili is also spoken in the eastern part of Congo-Kinshasa, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, and to a lesser degree in Mozambique, and Somalia. Arabic and Hebrew are very easy for anyone who speaks either language to learn, because they're very similar, and if one speaks Russian, he can easily learn any of the other Slavic languages.

I got a little package from our new Soap-Sue.. I ordered the pure olive-soaps.. This is what I got:

1 Sandalwood (Very faint scent, mostly just soap - nice though)
1 Green Tea (Very fresh scent)
1 Black Cherry (Strong candylike cherryscent-almost too much)
1 Bay Rum (Quite strong scent, on the sweet-side of our beloved Bay Rum)
1 OrangeRose (rather faint scent, very nice scent - quite original)
1 Rose (very Rose :drool )

I have only tried the Sandalwood yet - pleasing result, Thank you Sue!

Nice grab on the Rooney, Rich ;)

It's all your fault! :D Thanks though for pushing me over the edge. You should see this brush. I put it next to my LTD Edition Edwin Jagger Finest Silvertip and it matches up well. I really like that it is more fan shaped. I've been wanting to pick one up. Now, I'm just waiting on some recent Ebay used brush purchases.

Klaus, a hat is a must for me. I work in an office during the day but, I out with the horses after work and weekends. California sun is strong. With my creeping baldness and fair skin, I have to wear sun protection. I'm a good candidate for melanoma if I don't. Might as well look good too. ::

crackstar

I can't seem to get into hats, although I like how they look on other people. When I play golf, or go to the beach, I always wear SPF lotion, but the kind of skin I have turns so black, that it's like I have nothing on it. I seem to be the only guy who looks terrible with a tan! :o

moviemaniac
05-21-2007, 05:37 PM
Rich, that's exactly my situation. I've got very light skin that doesn't get the slightest hint of a tan - but I easily get sunburn and freckles :D Sun-protection is also a must for me.

Jeff seems to have the very opposite problem, never heard of someone getting too dark before.
