Hey, thank you. Flickr is an endless source of inspiration. My only problem right now is I have accumulated a lot of different techniques I haven’t fully mastered. Instead of doing half-assed experimentations, I should focus on a single technique (multiple self, aging process, etc.) then move to a new one. Self-discipline is required.

The shave itself was very nice, but a few minutes afterwards, red spots appeared on my neck. They're not from razor-burn or ingrowns but I think the Floris ASB-sample is the culprit - never had any problems with all the other stuff I used today. Ah well, with some pure shea-butter my neck will hopefully clear up soon :D

Result: 4.5/5.0 Yes, you see right. Two razors. I used my brand new Merkur HD Slant Bar w/Feather for my first pass and my brand new Merkur 38C HD Long Handle w/Feather for the rest of the passes. I couldn't wit to try both. :drool Near BBS and I didn't slice or nick myself. The slant deserves respect though. It gets close. :D I tried the Saint Charles Shave Lime cream that Michael sent me and it worked rather well. The lime is "light fresh" smelling. lather was decent but the cream consistency in the jar, like the avocado oil cream, is really weird. Almost a balm. The Avocado is like cottage cheese. Go figure. It works. That's all I care about.

Despite the low-level of exposure on the Adjustable, and a mild blade, I got a superb shave today using 3 passes.....probably couldn't have done that with a cream but regardless it is possible for me to get smooth & close without an aggressive setup. Good to know ;)

Result: 3.2/5.0 Well, this was the first time I really shaved with a str8. I had only scraped my cheek a little with a not so sharp Dovo 4/8 before. Someone felt sorry for me and was very generous and gave me a Shumate Razor Co Shumate's Barber 5/8 Straight Razor w/Black Plastic Scales for my razor pleasure. I thank them very much. I made one stupid mistake with the point under my nose which called for the styptic. My neck on the right got roughed up. I should have stretched the skin more. In all, I called it a success. (No one had to dial 911) I finished the passes with a Merkur Slant w/Feather. Between the str8 and the slant I got a very smooth but roughed up, need to heal, shave. I gave myself a weeper at the bottom of my neck with the slant. I will say though, the slant with a feather is one heck of a smooth cutter and I will be using the str8 more. I need to do some homework. OK, time to put a little more Aloe 99 on.

Tried something new today. Put a small squirt of aloe in my hand, then a splash of Aqua Velva. Rubbed my hands together to mix the two and put it on my face. Boy does my face feel nice!

SuperShave!! Very smooth, great shave - the 1904 performed superior with a couple of washers between the blade and the end-piece.. But I did nick my adams-apple just a little - havent had to re-visit my styptic for years.. Oh well.. Still SuperBBS!!

Boy, what an O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G shave!!! Now I know why everyone says these no date-code SSs to be amongst the best razors out there. I'm smooth as a babies bottom and my face was deep-frozen for at least half an hour. Jeez, that LEA-cream cools ya down. Quadruple the power of the Proraso-soap (don't have the cream) and you get the idea :D
