Wood- Top One is Zebrano
Lower is Laburnam ( wood I got from home in scotland)
Spacer is Mammoth ivory on the Laburnum and Plexi glass on the Zebrano
Pins...well I was messing around with them and so have used all sizes and bullseyes.
I enjoyed making them alot and have still a few issues with my pinning, the next set is already in my head so its just a case of finding the time....lol (*anyone else got a 2 year old)...

Good job on both razors, simon. I especially like the shape of the scales and the wood on the bottom razor. Keep at it because it looks like you have the talent.

Lovely grain in your choice of woods. The mammoth ivory wedge was a cool choice too. What's the finish?

Top razor was refinished with superglue (CA) and the lower was finished with some fluids used for finishing wood on a lathe.

I thought I recognized the glint of CA on the top one. However, the finish on the other looks well done too.

well to answer some questions for you kindly gents..
The razors,
1. The Zebrano wood set is a 5/8th wedge made by Thomas Ibbotson,Whitechapel ,Liverpool,finnished in CA.
2.The Laburnam set is aprox.6/8th,(nearer 7/8th) i think and it is a Joseph Rodgers & Sons,Cutlers to Their Majesties, this piece was finished with a substance called sand and seal, a product used for finishing wood turned on Laithes.
The blades were restored ,reground and finished by Joe Chandler and considering the condition of them he has acheived a miracle and given them new life.
Well I hope I have been able to answer your questions and thanks for your comments
regards,simon..
ps peter thatmakes 3...lol::
