Experimental shave today - I tested a sample of a new formula of the Italian La Riana natural olive-oil shaving soap (don't regard this as a review of the final product, the soap is work in progress!)
MP best badger
Merkur HD
Feather day 4
Trumper CSF / PRE
La Riana natural SS test-sample
Alum
Dominica Bay Rum
Anherb ASC
100% Shea Butter
Well, the shave was mediocre and it confirmed me in my opinion that pure olive oil soaps are great for bathing but not for shaving. It might be great for making superlather but that's that. The biggest problem is that olive oil is too soft to really soak and soften the whiskers, so I had problems on the ATG-pass - got 6 weepers (first time I got that many nicks!).
After the Anherb I needed something stonger as my neck was burning - not of razor burn but of the poor ATG-pass so I applied some pure shea-butter - what a relief!

This Cool Dude shave cream is slick. I felt like I was driving a racing car across my face. But, no nicks or weepers, and only some minor irritation on the neck and under the nose where I got a bit too aggressive anyway. The scent was hard to pin down, first thought was pine needles, but it wasn't that harsh. I will have to ask the soapmaker what she uses for fragrances in this one. All in all, a keeper of a cream!

more confident with the straight even switched hands and did an ATG with the straight its not that hard once you get (confidence) going the hard part will always be around and under the chin but there is no shame in grabbing a DE for that area untill your comfortable around that area too you dont want to go too fast and cut into your chin so im comfortable to use the DE untill I can read and write with the straight. so Doc, Baloosh , TJ you guys can do it.. I mean The crackstar does it so you ya'll can do it too.

Lousy shave today. I had trouble with the Ingram-cream, it lacked slickness and the lather desappeared on my face - just like the first time I used it.
The Harrison wedge is also driving me nuts. It's scary sharp but it doesn't seem to wanna cut my whiskers - after three passes half the stubble was still left on my face and after applying the ASB I discovered three cuts on the right side of the chin. Dammit. ::ban

Result: 4.3/5 Near BBS. Minimal redness. First Impression: At $28 a tube for the L'Occitane Cade Shaving Cream you can save your money. It's not worth it. Takes a ton of cream to make a decent lather, the scent is nothing special and the cushion and glide was mediocre. There are far more products out there for 1/4 of the price that do a better job. Maybe the soap is better. I will try take it home and try it again this weekend.

Initial review of TGQ Provence Lavender soap: It performs just as wonderfully as all my other TGQ soaps, but I think my aversion to Lavender reared its ugly head again... had some burning and redness, the type of which has only happened on some Lavender products (SCS Lavender balm, etc.) I think I'll try an experiment next time I use this soap, and cut it 1/2 and 1/2 with some KMF Unscented... see how that goes.
Performance wise, it gets an A+ -- typical of Colleen's soaps. Scent-wise, it's unlike any Lavender product I've smelled before... very nice, and I really don't know what "true" Lavender smells like, but I like this one.
