There's Something About It...

So, last night I take a late evening shave to test out a straight razor that I had honed up. The honing was good, and I got a good shave; used some Florena shaving cream for the skin conditioning since I didn't know how good or bad the edge would be. Now, I proceed to follow it up with the after shave duties. I decide for Aqua Velva and TAGMSC aftershave milk. Plenty of cooling tingle with softness, and my skin feels good!

Now, I have plenty of other aftershaves, and EdTs. For the most part, I've got a collection that the wife approves of. I will also usually let her have a test of the closeness and smell for approval, here's what happened last night:

Me: "Pretty good shave, huh?"
Wife: "Yeah, smells good. What is it?"
Me: "Well, let me run down the shave for you..."
Wife: :rolleyes:
Me: "OK -- OK. It's the Aqua Velva that your smelling."
Wife: Seriously?!?!
Me: "Yes."
Wife: "Huh. The cheap stuff?"
Me: "There's something about an Aqua Velva man."

After that we have a good laugh at it all. Anyway, I knew a few of you around here would appreciate Aqua Velva's triumph of the day. :D

Btw: A buddy of mine who just got started wet-shaving called to let me know he got a compliment on his aftershave from a lovely lady at a local watering hole. Yep, you guessed it. A/V. When he told her what it was she said he had never heard of it. I asked him "how old are the girls at this place!"

Looking at my bottle of Thayer's Aftershave (Not Toner) and Ogallala Bay Rum aftershave, eshave cucumber or white tea aftershave creams and my Proraso pre/post cream and scratching my head. I thought these were aftershaves? :rofl
