Monday: MB Aged Spice, Merkur Classic HD/Derby Result: 4.4
Tuesday MB Dragon's Blood, Parker 22R/7am Result: 4.3

Update to MB soap prep when going for lathergasm.
1) Soak MB soap for 1 min.
2) Wet brush and shake out
3) Dump soap water into lather bowl.
4) Charge Brush
5) Make lather in bowl. It will be on the thin side.
6) Gently squeeze lather out of brush into bowl.
7) Recharge brush.
8) Finish lather.

Result. Thick, slick mounds of lather filling the brush & bowl and good enough for 5+ passes with ease. When I first started using MB soaps I had lather building issues. Not anymore. I have more lather then I know what to do with. Now, I can scale back a little.

I'm fine tuning stuff now. I have the razor technique down to where I might nick once a month. The lathers on soaps and creams are all coming up to where I think they should be and then some even in harsh water and shaving conditions. I'm wasting lather but it gives me chance to try more stuff. What a dilemma!

Soap - Issy's 100% oo Soap
Grooming:
Deodorant - Burt's Bees Herbal Deodorant
Floss - Glide
Toothpaste - Rembrandt Complete Mint
Toothbrush - Reach Tooth & Gum Toothbrush - Soft
Blemish - Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish Stick
Moisturizer - Thayer's Witch Hazel & Aloe Moisturizing Lotion
Shave:
Razor - Parker 22R TTO DE
Blade - 7AM Platinum
Brush - Proraso Omega Boar
Soap/Cream - SSC Shea Butter and Avacado Oil Cream (1/2 teaspoon)
Shave Technique - WTG/45XTG/45XTG/Touchup. Warm water rinses in between.
Lather Technique - Soak brush and shake out. Add cream to bowl. Swirl and add a few drops of hot water and swirl a little at a time until lather builds to where you want it. Too much water and you can add 100% glycerin or more cream to thicken it up a little.
Post-Shave:
Alum Block - Wet with cold water.
Proraso pre-post - Mix with cold water on hands first.
Ogallala Bay Rum Aftershave - Just a dab will do you.

Result: 4.5/5.0 Except for the unexpected blemish, the shave was very nice. Near BBS with no peeps from the Alum Block. The Parker 22R is nice but I need to get used to the light weight. The SSC Cream is not the best smelling but it whipped up a nice slick, cushioning lasting lather. Since I use a spare stainless pet water bowl for my shave bowl at work, I can run the bottom under hot water between passes to re-warm the lather quickly. I did touch ups with just splashing warm water on face and spreading cream remnants around. Very slick that way. No need for more cream.

After writing that MAMA line I went back to the bathroom and reached for Mama Bears Cucumber ASB. 10 minutes later the stinging on the neck was gone and within an hour also the red spots disappeared. Mama Bear's ASBs really are miraculous products ::

Actually, after about two weeks of trying (and my Norton waterstone finally getting here and honing my "shave ready" razor), I was able to shave all the way with just a straight and get more-than-acceptable results. Not quite BBS yet, but closer than I ever got with cartridges, etc. It think I have finally "stumbled" on a good technique for straights.

Left my normal gear at work.

Sat:
OK, I started off a with brand new str8 I just got. Dovo INOX SS 4/8. I have to tell you it scared the crap out of me to try one of these things. I did a crummy job and finished up with the Sensor but you know what? I didn't slice or nick myself. Thank God! Now, I need to watch the videos about 20 times. I won't be using these day after day but, I DID IT!

Sensor with C&E BB Brush and Shave My Face unscented.
The SMF was a first for me. Even though it said brushless, I used a brush and I was glad I did. Did a nice job.

Results:
Sat. needed a new pair of underwear. :rofl 3.5/5.0. Using the str8 and the Sensor roughed up my neck a lot. A little Thayers aftershave and Proraso cleared it up quick.

Sun. BBS with a little leftover sting on the neck from Sat. 4.6/5.0. because I got the BBS. Points deducted for the neck still getting a little roughed up. The problem is the razor is a little light. It makes me feel I need to press down a little too much. Same with the Parker 22R. I prefer a heavier razor and let the razor weight fo the job. The new Merkur coming out looks like it will fit the bill perfectly.
