Ok, boys and girls, time for a poll.

What's the most expensive shaving-related item you've ever purchased (or received as a gift)? Mine would have to be the $128 Kent BK8.

Anyone? Anyone?

Bought for myself $765 7/8 Maestro Livi straight (worth every penny)
Gift from my girlfriend 7/8 TI Damascus, not quite sure how much she payed, but I've seen it on various websites so I have a rough idea.
For me the individual items aren't so scary, however, if I was to add up the cost of all the razors, soaps, creams, balms, blades and other sundries I'd probably die of shock:eek:

Alex

Alex, there's a reason I did NOT ask that question! WAY too traumatic to even think of the answer!!

I forgot about my Sticky. That's the most expensive DE I bought. I got mine for a little over $200, which was the most a Sticky went for, apart from the one Richard sold which included the original box and paperwork(mine was mint with the case but didn't have a booklet.)
I probably should have waited for the inevitable price drop, but at the time I said the next Sticky would be mine so I didn't want to risk losing face:cool:

Alex

SR 3124 = $115.

But soon that might be trumped by either a Shavemac 26mm, SR 26mm or a Kent BK8 :drool

I think my most expensive purchases (of specific items) have been on brushes.

However, I have spent several hundreds at a time buying multiple things at once.

In total, I believe I've spent >= $2,500 on shaving accoutrement(s?)

--> Here's an idea: start a "real" poll for total dollars spent on this habit/addiction. <--

$240 (I think) on the B&B razor/brush set. It was more expensive for me as I had to pay an extra 17.5% VAT. I am too scared to add up the value of my other stuff. I have a 4 drawer divan bed.....and 2 of them are taken up with soaps and creams and blades and.........

I lump shaving stuff into household expenses. I shudder to think what it would be like if I separated them out.

I doubt I've spent more than $50 on a single item.

My only brush is a C&E Best ($35).
I use predominately Mama Bear soap. I dont own a single cream or soap from the Three T's.
I only own 3 razors - Merkur HD & Slant, and Gillette Slim Adjustable. I got the slant for Christmas and the adjustable in a trade.

I've done a pretty darn good job of keeping my costs low. I guess thats because I REALLY dont have the money to spend on costlier items, like most of you who are older and hold full time jobs.

If it was not for the SR, my big Ticket item would be the C&E Best as well.
